In my opinion the game doesn't feel a huge amount different from the ones before. Maybe it's just the PS3 but the graphics look really jaggedy and some of the player likenesses seem way off... Kobe doesn't look at all like Kobe and I don't think Dwight's been done too well.

The rebounding doesn't really feel like it's been improved. Gasol and Dwight have a nasty habit of jumping way before the ball even touches the rim, and i've seen Bynum sliding all over the paint grabbing defensive rebounds when Dwight was position perfectly for the off. board.

A lot of players are putting up shots they wouldn't in real life. Bynum and Dwight have both shot numerous circus shots from about 10 feet away from the basket. I've seen Vince and Kobe slide past players in the paint and explode really quickly for a dunk, and it just doesn't look smooth and realistic. Maybe I haven't got hang of it yet but the post game feels awful, unresponsive and hectic, and I hate the fact that the posting up is automatic.

There are some good points. Love the playcalling, works really well and having the plays named for each player helps a lot. The shooting mechanics feel really smooth but too many players go for pump fakes. The presentation is top notch, not too sure about the players introduction thingy though, when the starting 5 stand against a blank background. The ball-handling is good and I love using the right stick to break down my man. The rim physics also feel good and definitely improved.

Overall, i'm disappointed, but a lot of the things I have mentioned will hopefully be improved by the time the full game comes out. I think after hearing all the positives from the Xbox players, I got my hopes up a little too high. Probably the most i've ever look forward to a demo! It is just that though... a demonstration of the full game, so I don't wanna make any hasty judgements. Just my opinion guys.
Good post, the highlighted part stuck out to me the most. NBA Live 10 is an improvement no doubt.. But, to me it still feels like Live. I think I'll take a pass this year. They're almost there, but not quite.

It's supposed to be like the ABC finals intros. The ones I remember only have the star player though and starting 5 list right next to him.

        That's a good point.
Hopefully the introductions won't be like that for regular season games, and if that's the case then it's actually a nice touch.

Been playing for over an hour now and overall I am impressed with the step they took this year. Really love the animations and the amount of control you have. It's just mind blowing how many options you have. Really looking forward to dig deeper into the passing controls and size-up moves.

You gotta love the graphics and the atmosphere. I had Kobe dunk on me and Staples Center went crazy and mad a lot of noise when I was building up my offense, you can just feel the pressure.

Biggest problem has to be the framerate with inbounds in offense behind the basket and a crowded bucket you just see the framerate taking a big hit. I really hope this isn't a problem for the PS3 Final version, because it ruins the feel of the game and makes the beautiful animations so much less impressive.

Still working the box-out / rebound button. Have to get used to it, with freethrows I can't get my man to box-out. Someone knows how I can do that?

Also compliments on the net and rim physics. Not perfect, but gotta love when you hit that wide open three from the kick out with a complete 'swoosh'...

Round up: Biggest concern is the framerate, hope a producer can look into it and calm me down about it

It helps to hold on to left trigger and tap the buttons. For icon passing.

I notice that the frame rate drops during defensive rebounds. This issue needs to be cleared up.

Game is great, and gets even better once you figure out how to play D more effectively.

Re: NBA Live 10 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here (PS3)

Hello. I've played about 5 games and these are my observations (note that I've been playing 2K9 non stop for a year, so can't but compare):

Controls are great and easy. Even though I'm used to 2K, I've had absolutely no problems with shooting, defense or (icon) passing.

Offense: I absolutely love the fact that it isn't possible to blow by your defender to go for an easy dunk, because your shot will be contested. This game seems to rely heavily on mid range shooting and that's the way it should be imo. Dribbling is very responsive and it's great to try out all kinds of stuff. It's also great that mindless dribbling will make you loose the ball.

Defense: I had absolutely no problems with rebounding and I managed to get at least 1 block in each of my games.
However, there seems to be (heavy) slow down at moments during rebounds. That definately needs to be ironed out for the retail game.

Graphics are great and the animations are alot better than in previous Live games.

I played on All-Star and it seems to me that the fg % seemed quite high. I have the impression that I soon will need to play on Superstar level.

Overall: I had alot of fun and this game seems more realistic than any bball game I've played (although it might be to early to give a conclusion). The slow down on rebounds needs to be corrected, but besides that I don't have complaints.
Thums up to the Live crew.

Is anyone noticing much difference between the PS3 & 360 versions? If so, what?

                        Thanks in advance...

as stated the framerate. the overall crispness of the graphics is a little bit different. the colors and the shiny-ness is a little bit muted, although I can't say I mind it at all. This demo doesn't seem to have the after the quarter replays. Im sure thats demo only.

Sounds pretty much the same. Would love for anyone to put some Live running on the Ps3 action on youtube if possible though.

I've had no frame rate issues what so ever in the ps3 version yet. Graphics the colors are a little toned down but in my opinion it's actually better then looking shiny all the time.

I don't see the framerate issues some are describing. I love the atmosphere, crowd, and ability to pull off certain moves; but there's quite a few issues I have that are glaring, at least to me. I immediately moved to superstar to see if the issues went away, playing a few more games before I make any more impressions.
