I just finished watching the gameplay video of nba 2k10 on youtube and I am not impressed by what I saw. NBA Live 10 seems to be superior in terms of graphics(this has been the case for at least the last three years), presentation, and GAMEPLAY! The Live demo had the feeling of an actual NBA broadcast. 2k has always set the standard as far as gameplay but they are still using the same player models from the ps2/xbox era. The only difference is that SOME facial likenesses are excellent. NBA Live 06 for the Xbox 360 was the first truly next-gen looking basketball game. The gameplay was horrible but EA sports introduced an entirely new graphical engine that has been utilized beautifully in NBA Live 10. The player models are truly stunning. I've been playing both the 2k and Live series since the beginning. I love them both but I always have said that if NBA Live ever got the gameplay up to par with the graphics, then 2k would be in trouble. They seem to have done that this year. 2k10 looks like 2k 9.5......the same look and animations. 2k9 was an awesome game but for the consumer's hard earned cash we deserve more than just a roster update and a few minor additions. I was truly blown away by the Live demo but the gameplay video of 2k10 is underwhelming to say the least. I have already pre-paid for the 2k10 $99 anniversary edtion as well as NBA live 10. I truly believe that this is the year that LIVE reclaims it's title as the best basketball simulation on the planet.

No offense but this is another flame war starting thread...who cares....
Both will be different and people will like either, or! Or even both! for what they both do and don't offer...
The IGN video was terrible, but some things were good. Overall both games look to be decent. -

No, this isn't the year. Live has come a long way though. You have to beat the champ to win the belt. Yes 2K has become complacent after being champ for almost 10 years...they've allowed Live to get back in the ring and next year might be the year when they knock 2k off for good. This is great for video game b-ball. This year, not so much...Comment

This year's upcoming NBA games reminds me perfectly of the days of NFL2k5 vs Madden2005...in other words, no gamer will lose out, its down to a matter of personal preference and thats the bottom line of it all...You win some, you lose some
