I really feel like this is the year that Live overtakes 2k in gameplay, but I think the presentation could use some bump ups. Perhaps a patch where cutscenes can be seen more frequently. In the grand scheme of things this is frivolous, I know, but it doesn't seem like it would be hard to implement. Overall, I'm really looking forward to this game. I think this is the year that Live takes the top spot back.

Presentation in NBA Live
One thing I would like to see more of is cutscenes after a player scores a basket. When you are watching a telecast, it seems like there is a quick cutaway to the player who just scored as they go back up the court almost every play. I feel like that is missing abit in Live. I know it is in there, but it doesn't seem to happen often enough for me. Another thing is the commentary. It's getting stale. Now of course Im just going by the demo and the few vids I've seen on youtube, but there needs to be more banter and less lulls of dead silence.

Re: Presentation in NBA Live
I play 2k -- but from personal experience -- the commentary usually gets muted after about 2 months of having the game. By then, no matter how much commentary there is -- you've heard it all. Heh.
Live seems to have some great crowd reaction and stadium sound so that should take up the balk of the listening. -
Re: Presentation in NBA Live
Thier is dynamic commentary this years so it will be updated as the season goes on.Comment

Re: Presentation in NBA Live
Are there any videos that show this feature off? This would be my favorite addition if does half of what I dream about. I'm thinking comments about injuries, trades, past games, breaking records, triple doubles...Also, my most import comment would be the current NBA champion and if they repeat the number of championships they have won in a row and talk about dynasty...Work Hard...Pay Bills...Work Hard...Pay BillsComment

Re: Presentation in NBA Live
One of the things I'm looking forward to that one of the devs mentioned in a presentation blog is the usage of in-game replays.
Supposedly, during different parts of the game, there's suppose to be in-game replays focused on specific aspects of what's going on in the game and corresponding commentary (I'm assuming). It'll definitely be an improvement over the replay system that they had last year, and hopefully gives the game a "telecast" sense.Comment

Re: Presentation in NBA Live
In my opinion, the presentation aspect of Live is one of the most improved parts of the game. You have overlaying stats occurring throughout the game, you have the pre-game stuff with a slick take on showcasing the starting line-ups and the cutscenes are just perfect. I don't like a lot of cutscenes as for me it can conflict with the action on the court if it is overused.
As far as commentary, it all depends on taste. For me, the arena atmosphere Live created for this year's game actually seems to give more life to Marv Albert and Steve Kerr, even though the majority of their dialogue is recycled. For me, I like what Live is doing in terms of presentation.Comment

Re: Presentation in NBA Live
(Preemptive disclaimer: This is not a dig at you Lando)
OMFG!!!!!!! OVERLAYED STATS!!!!!!
No way!!! You mean like, DURING the game they ACTUALLY show statistics on screen during dead ball periods??!!! OMG!!!!!
Okay, all kidding aside, I can't for the of me figure out why people slobbered all over themselves when it was shown on a different game in recent gameplay footage. What's the big deal? It's just statistics.
Is it a good thing? Sure.
Does it make any substantial difference in game quality? Nah, not to me.

I am really concerned about commentary. I just watched the 2k stuff and thats what I hope Live has as well. I have always wondered why franchise didn't have historical references or mentioned stats from previous games. I mean microsoft's game way back when had some good commentary and that was like 8 years a goWork Hard...Pay Bills...Work Hard...Pay BillsComment

Re: Presentation in NBA Live
same here...after watching the videos that 2k has put out the commentary has stood out the most to me and it is a big improvement over 2k9...im just hoping live's commetary is just as good or better b/c in their videos the commentary flowed very well imo.Comment
