im not sure how it can work well with the current control scheme since banking a shot is pushing the left analog stick towards the basket. -

A forward leaner is when you are on the run or driving to the hoop and want to shoot over a man instead of trying to get around him. Don't seem how that would affect bank-shot control. Lets say you beat your man but two help defender are coming, both ways of attacking left and right are covered and you have zero options left. Now, you can still attack and pull a forward leaner over your man. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but it shouldn't affect the bank-shot control.Comment

Clarification: when you "zero your the L-stick" is that they same as neutralizing it?
If so, that seems to be the best option in my opinion.
Pulling the L-Stick back on the run (while holding sprint) executes a quick step back jumper currently which I like, and this seems to take that away. Plus the motion of the stick seems kind of counter intuitive.
Zeroing, when I start to think about it, seems odd as well. Zeroing your stick slows down your momentum and lets you do a nice little a gather pull-up right now. A forward leaner should trigger when a player is going near full speed towards a defender.

I noticed Melo had a forward leaner in the hangar and wondered why other players couldn't do the same. If it is in fact something that could be patched into the game that would be awesome.Comment

Im pretty sure it will be momentum based shot Ripcity kind of like the left/right leaning jumpers. You will probably use your players foward momentum to shoot the leaner I guess.
I need some clarification on this also though to see if I'm correct on my assumption.Comment

floater/leaner: keeping momentum and shooting
Pull Up Jumper: stopping momentum and shooting
In real world, config 1 would make sense realistically. No L Stick movement (Nuetral) allows u to keep momentum and shoot. And L Stick Away (pulling) pulls away from forward momentum and allow you to shoot normally, or a pull up jumper rather. In realistic terms, sounds good. But, functionality wouldn't be to good imo. Just odd control.
From a control standpoint, I think Pulling back should be floaters. Nuetral should be jumpers. Just feels right. Also, by the time it gets patched or changed, most users will be used to L Stick Neutral for the pull up jumper. Wouldn't be user/consumer friendly to change that.Comment

Leaners should work something like
RT+ neutralized left stick+ X
and then just a gather pull up will be the same without RT.
This would work fine because if ur going to pull up theres no need to hold RT.
But if your going to pull of a leaner...you will need to hold RT cuz ur still in motion.
