Good post CV. Im the opposite in that the demo turned me off after playing it for a while....once the WOW was gone. You have to take wtf momens for what they are...but for me, my issues were moreso with core gameplay. I wil be buying the game...but it hasnt really earned my time yet..im hoping the retail shows me something different. Ill tell you what though, imo the game has gone from unplayable in 09 (for me) to respectable in a years time.

The demo killed Live for me. I went back and forth for awhile, but the more I played the demo, the more I was done with the game.

Which is the problem with have a demo out for a long time. It's totally natural to get bored and find things with a demo that features the same things (teams, enviroment, jerseys, length) over and over. In the final version, things are a bit different and changed up. Don't underestimate Synergy daily either....

You know when Live wil be GREAT? When peope no longer have to throw subtle shots or "compared to" statements to prove its worth. Anyone can see the devs put in ALOT of work...cant we show we appreciate that by giving it its own place....it deserves that doesnt it?

I agree, it's kind of a good and bad scenario with having your demo out so long.

I still plan on giving you guys a fair shot on retail release.

I think every sports game has its fair share of WTF moments so that's not a big deal for me. I don't lose sight of the fact that it's a video game so if Dwight Howard pops a 20-footer once every dozen games it will not bother me (same with the 2K threads about there being too many jump-hooks, really people?).

I bought Live 09 in May to play during the playoffs but played a lot of NCAA09 and Live 10 has made so many improvements over both games that will keep me happy all winter. The mid-range/jump shooting game in Live is enough to keep me happy for a long, long time. The spacing, playbooks and controls are great. With Dynamic Season (and my Knicks dynasty where I sim and get LeBron or Durant or someone) I will have a blast with the retail.

The bottom line is that the game is fun as hell, even in the demo. Just like with Madden this year, a lot of people here bash the hell out of the game (surprise, surprise) but I am having so much fun with it, I'm halfway through Year 3 in a dynasty, haven't played accomplished that since Madden '03.

Live will be a ton of fun for me and sim enough, I can't wait.

The WTF moments don't get to me either/I haven't noticed them. The fact that I can turn this demo on, make no adjustments at all and have a great time is worth it's weigh in gold.

For me personally of course. I'm over tinkering and nitpicking. Time to enjoy and without any adjustments, it is providing me with that experience at the moment.

I can't argue with the facts. Live has definitely improved in the last year where you can actually say "this is a new game", with the new dribbling styles and size up moves. They delievered hard with capturing great atmosphere for each court. The court spacing has definitely improved. Offensive strategy is definitely visable. Defense is now not just about standing in front of a player, it takes more effort in winning the battle.

However, even though this is a demo, there are areas in the game were it gets to be pretty awkward. For example: players jumping higher than the rim (space jam). There comes to be weird and awkward change in shot when trying to drive inside and the defense is in the key bodying you up. The offensive player kinda changes his layup into a jump shot when heavily guarded, talk about wtf. Rebounding seems more planed than anything.

These are issues hopefully the retail version has fixed or maybe could be fixed with a patch. This year, Live has definitely made a good impression on me compared to years back (they had little strategy). They have stepped to the plate and delivered a "decent" game that can actually be capitalized on. It's kinda disappointing, so far, that their hyped market seemed to try and go for a K.O. for us gamers but kinda fell short of the glory imo.

Totally agree. Also I haven't seen some of these WTF moments people speak of. I haven't seen anything stranger than what I've seen in almost every other basketball game, so for me Live has already won my time. I had to force myself to stop playing the demo, because it reminds me of a strip club. Such a tease.

I really, really hope I can get my hands on this game this week. I haven't anticipated a bball game like this since 2k8, and I think it will deliver FOR ME, like 2k8.

Co-sign...I also had to tear myself away from the demo because I just want to get the retail joint and break it down and get some head 2 head games in with people who plan to play real ball

The other train of thought is...I think you guys were so confident and excited about the quality of Live 10 that you didn't have a problem putting out a demo way early.

Other than the monotony of the two teams and buildings I love the demo and have not seen any WTF moments. The demo more than sold me ...It gave me an anticipation for a game I have not felt since the beginning of NEXT GEN sports games in 2005-2006

I'm very critical of games myself. If it's not a desperation shot by D12, it should NOT be happening. But you know what? The players in 2K slide up and down the court and I think Live has better defense than 2K. Live also has the better crowd atmosphere since it differs from regular season, playoffs and Finals. 2K has outstanding commentary and sick tip dunks. It really depends on what the customer wants out of a game. You can't go wrong with either game if you ask me. I choose to go with Live.
