Re: NBA Live 10 QA Final version

Is it just me or is the off ball play more physical in the retail game. I was watching some of Czar's vids and it looked like that maybe the case.

It was one area I didn't like in the demo it made guarding players off the ball difficult, because you couldn't really prevent the player from getting to his spot.

    Can anyone confirm this?

I always wanted to say that

Remember there is momentum so Kidd wasnt going to magically recover from that
Live still has a very limited range of cause and effect animations, which is why people ask these kinds of questions. I remember when I saw the very first Live 10 vid, I posted "there might be a philosophical flaw in Live's animations, but I need to see more". Now that I've seen more, it's definitely there. It's correctable, and has some effect on gameplay, but is mostly a cosmetic adjustment to cue players in as to what the situation is in each play.

Yah, much more physical. They are more active overall. I had one player watch a ball go out of bounds, but it was the exception rather than the rule. It's early to say, but I don't think AI (lack of) awareness will dominate the experience the way the demo did.

I do realize that, but the game is harder to explain when you will likely only understand when you are controlling the game.

I know you said you would not be playing dynasty but you could please check if there is a fantasy draft option.

                    23 or Czar...
How are subs on the run during a game implemented?????
you do it with A button and then go down to select the sub player or you can toogle between players with the directions buttons???

I don´t llike at all the way it was implemented in the demo...i prefer the 2k way for subs during a game

                    thanx

had a cpu vs cpu game finish something like 88-80 or 90-80 both teams shots below 40 percent.

Playbooks and atmosphere had me hooked...but 12 min quarters out of the box just sealed the deal.

I just don't want to waste another season on sliders / roster edits and other stuff.

I've read all 34 pages. If I missed anything, I'm sorry. Got 2 questions to ask.

                            1) How are rotations working? In last years game, we were not able to adjust minutes or mix up rotations. For example, I would start KG and Perk, but I want Sheed to play both center and pf. BB would play significantly less minutes then Sheed.

Here is how I like to adjust it:
                            KG: 30min
                            Perk: 26min
                            Sheed: 26min
                            BBD: 14min

Can I do that without being forced to manual sub?

                            2) Czar I know you're playing 12 min quarter games. What about fatigue? Veterans like Shaq, KG, Duncan, PP, Ray Ray, Nash etc get tired easier compared to the young guns?

Damn it looks like scoring is going to the most difficult it has ever been in a pro hoops game! It will be a nice change to be able to play a 48 min defensive struggle rather than a 145-139 dunk/score fest like we usually get.

It might not appeal to everyone but i like how a dunk or nice layup will actually seem kinda like a big deal because it doesn't happen every time down the court.

Thanks for the impressions and vids fellas (PR vs the Aussies was cool to see)!

3 Q's (only off the top of your head if you can remember, nothing urgent)?

Q1: In the games you have played how have the rotations/subs been so far? Like it didn't get to a close game in the 4th and cpu sub patterns weren't benching your PTP'ers were they?

Q2: How is the post game presentation? I've seen some slight footage of it but i'm interested to see what you guys think

Q3: Tried an online game yet? How's the lag etc?

You guys are a credit to the community, much thanks.

Can anybody with the game touch on fastbreaks by the AI?

I have not seen ANY 3 on 2, 2 on 1, 3 on 1 etc...type scenarios in any vids or during my time with the demo.

In the Knicks vid, the AI never pushed the ball after made or missed buckets to create fastbreak scenarios.

IMO It seems that either the transition D is getting back too fast or the CPU isn't pushing the ball up court hard enough..... OR both.

The D never seems to be back on it's heels in transition and the AI seems more than willing to concede and just set up the halfcourt offense ala Live09., instead of forcing the tempo.

Live is a great halfcourt playing game but, I'm hopeful that transition opportunities are plentiful this year. Especially, when playing the uptempo teams.
