Blazers (me) vs. Cavs (random online dude)

Awesome game. I couldn't hit a damn thing with B. Roy in the first half, but Andre Miller showed why he's a veteran. He was hitting guys in stride while cutting to the basket and draining some nice jumpers. The dude with the Cavs was going crazy with Lebron, but at halftime we were up by 5.

In the second half I went to a 2-3 and that really seemed to screw up his flow with James. He kept throwing up contested shots under the basket and when he did try to shoot with his other guys they were clanking off the rim. The power of B. Roy was also unleashed as he scored 24 of his 29 in this half from everywhere on the court. The Cavs went on a little run in the final minutes but Miller drained his free throws to close it out. I can't believe the type of great games I'm getting online.

This was one of the first issues mentioned for the patch when the demo came out. Devs confirmed weeks ago that it was still in the final version and would be patched. If you're mainly a player lock guy then pick up the game in a couple of weeks after its been patched.

It is 3:30 here. I am getting off at 5, running to my dads house to drop off some money I owe him then running to Bestbuy to grab Live.

Lets try and get a game in tonight Pappy. I plan on you lol

My local Best Buy was like a ghost town when it came to Live. The nearest one, within walking distance, was closed because they had a fire. The next nearest one didn't have Live on the shelf. The only person in the game department was trying to hook up a 360 to a TV for a demo. He was reading the instructions trying to figure out how to do it.

BTW, I want to try the crew, but can't find anyone online playing.

I told him to go look in the computer while I hooked up the 360 for him. About 5 minutes later he said they had 26 copies, then he went to the back and returned with the game I bought.

Re: Official NBA Live 10 Impressions Thread

Coming from years of 2k intitially you will dislike Live. But if you take the time to learn the game it plays fantastic basketball. Hot and cold streaks and very rythemic. For example in 2k I was used to taking Wade and running a muck. Dunking on everyone, shooting 3's etc and getting a W at the end. Not so with Live 10. I had to FIRST learn the controls. Then I had to excute. I had to use freestyle control to manually move Wade back, hold B to call for a screen and run and get the ball for a mid range jump shot. If I brought the ball down with Wade same thing. I played Heat ball, called for Pick n Roll top of the key for a drive and Kick. The problem is I haven't gotten the hang of Beaslys release point yet so the only one knocks shots is Charlmers as far as starters go but Cook saves me when I put Wade at 3. This games plays FFANNNNNTASTIC ball. Kills 2k, just murders it I promise that. But it does have its faults. Blocking animations are poposterious as well as the sound fx. Reminds me a lot of Inside Drive lol, no surprise. With NBA live 11 I think the game with be changed for good. Get all the players Sig'ed up, More game modes, and Crispy up everything we will be in for a treat. Great leap forward, for 2k lovers in the past like myself, just remeber this yr was for gameplay mostly and you'll be fine. Don't expect fireworks and cheerleaders and sorts of extra stuff just yet. That's what NBA Live 11 will be for. Good times... Let em roll.

Would you say your game was pretty much cheese free or was he just using James everytime down the court trying to score?

Na, no cheese. I was just doing a garbage job of containing James early on.

Yeah Phobia, I'll look for you later.

I am in total awe of this game. I just can't believe the jump they have made from 09 to 10. I have it for the PS3 and I had fun with the demo but the final version is so much cleaner and tighter in my opinion. Flat out just a sick game!!!

                          (PS3) Couple quick impressions:

I only played for about 5 minutes, but one thing I noticed immediately was the jagginess on the players, and I think the graphics might actually be worse than the demo. (I'm playing @ 1080p)

Second, can you change your shootaround player? I couldn't find where to do it. If you can't, that's just absurd.

Idk, the games looks tons better than demo IMO (im @ 720p). Framerate super smooth.

Does anyone else suck b/c they played w/ Lakers and Magic too much? LOL

Just returned from Best Buy with the game. Unfortunately, no TV purchase for me today, but hopefully on the 15th. Now time to fire up the 360, and play on the good ol' trusty SDTV, lol.
