is it me, or is there no scouting rookies in the game?

i can't seem to scout any rookies for the draft, prior to off season. is this right? since when?

i'll be honest, i switched over to 2k for a few years and now switching back to live. but dang, i recall u can scout rookies prior to off season. now i'm just drafting blind eyed.

am i missing something here?

that is correct. not sure since when, but i tried to do it, it aint there.

well u earn dynasty points for accomplishing certain goals during dynasty, which can be put towards scouting help such as better scouters..then in the off-season, you get busy with scouting.

i'll check in a second and see whats up

edit: ok rooking scouting begins JULY 3rd.

you can invite 10 rooks to workout at the academy

potential on all rookies is average? wtf is going on here. this just ruined the whole game for me.

how do you know if there is a big name rookie coming out?

do i have to run each one's scouting combine? what ever happened to auto scout? whats the purpose of it when it says manual or auto?

i'm already thinking of some way to get my money back on this game.

all i love to do is franchise and now thats not even what i want.

they tell you afterthey go to the academy what the scouting results are, then u base it off that
not sure if dynasty earned points unlock things to leanr about them.

i didnt use draft classes if they even have import option. I just simmed ahead and based that off the created rookies Ea made.

I'm not talking about importing. I'm talking about cpu generated draft. So if u wanna scout any rookie, u have to go through the whole academy? When ur actually in the draft screen, its so blah.
Why remove something u had? Shouldn't u improve on it? Isn't that the purpose of the game?
How about sleeper picks? Madden got it right, what's up with ea? These guys get bad mad $$$ for what? I blame ea management. U suck!

I understand your frustration. Believe me I am a huge franchise buff when it comes to basketball videogames but even I can give a pass on the franchise option this year seeing how much they put into the core gameplay. Next year we can hold them to the fire if they do not make some improvements on it. As of now though it is a serviceable mode though. Also I thought in real life coaches could only have but so much interaction with draft picks.

Why remove something they focused on last year or the year before? It was there. Why did they remove it. So no franchise mode for me this year since u can't go after the next lebron. How do u develop a team? Wtf no excuses anymore.

I've been with Live for years(I bought both games last year for the 1st time). The "scouting" or lack there of in Live has been like that for a long time I'm pretty sure. Not to mention I remember the random genertated draft classes were pretty lame. For example you'd find a good PG, you know rated like a 70-74. He'd have good handles, ok shooting, great speed and agility and then bam his acceleration was 40!!?? Really? And I don't think Live ever gave you the ability to edit rookies before you drafted them. Plus you could scout in 2k. Anyway I went with Live this year based solely on the improved gameplay. Dynasty is almost the excact same BS form last year. We'll see how long I stay interested. I can always get 2k for Christmas.
