    DNA Dirk v DNA Shaq

I played the Mavs the other day and Dirk was Dirk. He got the ball in all the right positions. He was hitting his sig J from 17 feet. He was stepping out for 3s. Amazing. I've never seen him represented so well in a game.

I played the Cavs twice...and Shaq was Patrick Ewing. He was taking 15 foot Js. He would step out on pick and rolls and if I doubled the ball handler, they'd pass to Shaq...who'd then shoot the fadeaway 15 footer. He wasn't aggressive around the hoop and posted up once only.

DNA has got me beat. Some players are perfect.

But then I see Shaq do that....and I've seen Dwight Howard take tonnes of 12 foot fadeaways also.

    Strange

That's strange. When i played the cavs shaq stood right under the basket and was dunking on me like crazy. All that he did against me was inside

CV i hear you bro, but i edited that man and shaq is a monster in my game.

i dont know why EA just dont rate him accordingly, i think they are afraid how it might look to people

shaq has 50 mid range likelyhood in shooting WOW and he has a 20% jumpshot dna wow since when, i edited that both to 0.......

so many players are for the lack of a better word " wrong" but if they were rated more accurately i think there would be a riot...

same for fastbreaks or the lack there of in many cases, there are a few breaks but when you look at the rebounding IQ you realize that the players are rated so low they dont crash the boards they act like guards and recover back on defense.....

raise reb IQ and defensive sink or swin and watch guys battling and fighting for position and the guards leak out

i believe we have to re-rate the game our selves, default live is for the masses,

        ,
        I didn't check this...thanks Carn.

Damm, 50% is crazy for Shaq. I guess that explains why he takes that mid range J all the time when I leave him open off pick and rolls.

I am sure Beluba and Steph will fix this when they update the DNA.

All this will be fixed a week or two into the season. Dynamic DNA....
But your right about Shaq having 50 likely hood from midrange, and Lebron having a 93 likely hood from 3??? I'm sure DNA will fix all of these once the season starts.

I always leave him open off pick and rolls...and trap the ballhandler, who then often passes to Shaq as he's free. He then takes the 15 footer often.

I am guessing it's because his mid range shooting likelihood is so high (see posts above). 50% seems crazy, I don't think I've ever seen real Shaq take a 15 foot fadeaway.

But DNA is already in the game...all those ratings are supposedly based on last season's DNA.

Even with DNA last season in LIVE 09...it took major edits to get LBJ to penetrate and not take catch and shoot Js all game.

the dna does not control, where a player shoots from in terms of his range....

it controls, if he drives left or right or pull up but the likely hood first determines if the players will even want that type of shot then the dna makes him go to him comfort zone

in other words the ratings need to be corrected, or else shaq will still be kobe at the top of the key

                  IMO

I think it's just that the CPU will take open shots.

I love DNA...but, as someone who played LIVE 09 a lot, I am not sold on all this "it's the truth" hype.

                    Yes, it's an outstanding feature.

But I used it all all last season and bigs who don't have any mid range game in real life still took mid range Js...Dampier, Shaq, Hibbert for the Pacers takes 17 footers.

One other thing is that guys like LeBron rarely iniate the offense unless off a rebound...after you score, the CPU almost always gives the ball to their PG to bring the ball up.

Fisher + Mo Williams carry the rock up to inititate the offense...not Kobe and LeBron etc.

Some things are done perfectly...others = not so perfect.

Carnalnirvava...don't spend too long editing players bro. Once the rosters are updated / trades etc...all those changes you make will be lost anyway.

The only way to get Shaq etc to not take 17 footers is if Steph and Mike change it permanently.

i update from ea maybe 2 times a year unless major trades happen, right now i am testing theories and enjoying the game, i have seen LBJ initiate the O on some rebs but its maybe once a game lol

it seems the PG is programmed to call the plays so he has to start the O every play

Too true. They said they'd fix this fro LIVE 10, but I guess they couldn't do it.

I really like the game, but things like this are kind of the reason I have decided to go with the other game. LeBron should not be primarily an off ball player. He should be handling the ball 80% of the time in the Cavs offense / not playing off ball, waiting at the 3 point line while Mo Williams runs the offense. Same with Kobe.

I don't want to say too much as the fellas are really enjoying the game...but there's tonnes of small things from LIVE 09 that are still ever present in LIVE 10 that kind of bring the game down IMO.

Tonnes of improvements also...the game is absolutely on track and back as a force. But it still has a fair way to go.

i noticed 8 out of 10 times LBJ got the reb he started the O, however he does not get many rebs.
