Question about TEAM GLOBAL RATINGS SLIDER in general.....If I apply edits across the board to a certain rating for example lower ALL AGILITY by 30, this will automatically deduct 30 Agility rating points for the entire team right?....Now, if I save this and use this roster in a Franchise, is this smart enough to apply that -30 points to agility for every NEW rookie I sign, and or trade to my team throughout the seasons?......If so, this is a brilliant Slider Feature

I tried this, and I don't think it's a bad idea at all. The game plays smooth....but a little less exciting. And, it seems nearly equivalent to lowering Game Speed. I'd rather do that, and let the players keep their ratings.

Lake, when you did global edits, did u move the game speed back to default?

i havent tried any of this yet, just asking.

Yeah it does reduce sliding.

The problem is when you reduce the speed slider down it kinda makes your players moon walk aswell unless you increase the overall speed of the players.

What Tomba did has been the case in every sinlge version of Live on Next Gen. You reduce agility for every player and it takes away the sliding making them actually take steps more often but you maintain the player speed.

I'd also suggest they find away to lower verticals aswell because IMO the biggest culprits for years in NBA Live has always been Agility and Verticals. The lower those ratings are the better the game looks and moves on the floor.

Simply by reducing verticals you still see players dunk naturally but what will happen is that the perimeter shot blocking even with the slider at default is going to be vastly reduced and more guys can contest shots without actually blocking the shots. No more 6'0 PG's rejecting shots by 6'6 swingmen on the perimeter stuff. No more superman take off dunks that happen at lightning speed every year.

1st off im a 2k guy thru and thru. Now Live isnt better then 2k, But it is a fun game.

Now this works and this actually gives like that sim and realist feel to it. I made some sliders that go hand and hand with this.

Keep speed @ 45 to 50 and the sliding and player different in speed shows..

My slider are in my EA Locker. Can someone download them and see what you think, also make a post showing the numbers used cause i just counted clicks and got lost on what number the bars are on.

glad to see after all these years Tomba and Playmakers are still doing their thing with Live. Im going to try the agility edit when I get home today from work and see how that goes. I also like what playmakers was saying about the jump. Too many blocks in this years game. I emailed Mike Wang about the next patch.maybe the reaction time is too high and thats why defenders get up so fast to block. It probably has nothing to do with jumping ability when it comes to the crazy blocks.

Do we have to do this player by player or is it a global thing because if it's player by player it is going to take a long time.

Also Tomba what do you mean give up on DNA? If I do this my Dynamic DNA isn't going to work anymore?

No one still answered this very simple question

Do Global Edits carry over from year to year in your franchise? Will new rookies and traded players benefit from whatever Global Roster edits you make to a team?


For example....lets say I do a Global Edit and REDUCE BALL HANDLING for the Knicks Roster by 20 points, when I start my franchise with this roster, will any new trades or rookies each season have their Ball Handling Rating reduced by 10 points??


If so, this is a fantastic feature that Im sure alot of people that play Live dont even know about.

This is a good catch, Tomba. I just tried it and I don't know if it was the "placebo effect" but the game did seem smoother, especially on fast breaks, for my team. I want to mess with the hands setting because I really don't think the sliders work except the fatigue and speed factors. The in-air collision foul sliders are hard to judge because of the fact that if a player jumps straight up to defend against a shot, it should be a no call if he keeps his hands straight up and the offensive player doesn't use a forearm. I wonder if EA is trying to differentiate between that and try to force u to play better D but that's a sidebar.

Again, I think u may be on to something.

This is a great find. The only problem with this is that we are going to get used to playing it this way. If you're a online player it's gooing to seem like the game is moving 100 times faster unless EA does this on there end.

It's going to be like playing Madden 10 on slow and then playing on fast. Hopefully EA and the Live team look at this and change there ratings. It does help out with the overall feel of the game.

i think you know the answer to this fudge. rookies coming in will not have the ratings change. its impossible. however, if you do a global edit to all teams, then anyone that you bring in from another team will already have the change done.
