Anyway to tune down cpu 3 point aggressiveness?
Most of the games I play I get frustrated with how often the cpu tries to throw up a 3, half of that time the 3 pointer comes within 8 seconds of possession. They just pass the ball to the side along the 3 point line and throw up the 3, it comes to a point where I know when their going to do it and block it a good amount. I just played my first game with cabrillo's sliders posted in the slider section and the game went great but the cpu still threw up 22 3 point attempts, thats crazy. And all the other games have at least 15 3 point attempts ranging all the way to 25 attempts. Are any of the sliders specifically towards long range aggressiveness?Tags: None -
Re: Anyway to tune down cpu 3 point aggressiveness?
i dont think a slider can help you, if you are not into editing rosters you will have to wait for the dna to change and hope for the best, can say i have seen this as a problem,
here and there the cpu attemps 15 3's a game but not to where they just throw them up, however i do agree that they shoot early in the clock, but if you are not the type to go under the hood and change ratings you may have to wait a few weeks until dna brings back real statsNOW PLAYING: NBA Live, madden 11,12, battlefield v, F1 2020 and injustice 2 and COD:MW

LMAO
Erick Dampier 3-PT Outside shooting Liklihood (50)
Dirk Nowitzki 3-PT Outside Shooting Liklihood (59)
Shawn Marion 3-PT Outside shooting Liklihood (34)
Now tell me whats wrong with this picture
Now see this is another reason why I don't agree with DNA in a few ways and why 82 games.com may actaully be a better fit in terms of the video game world. DNA would be great for text sim basketball but video game basketball simply makes players do shiiit based on a percentage even if it's not the right thing to do at times.
Now you see this thread right here that i posted a awhile back.
This is the type of reasonable thinking that we need at times for these games. This is cold hard facts about what actually happend during the season.
Now my boi Dampier who is a junk yard dog around the basket he only scores on putbacks and tip ins. That why he shot over 60% last year.
Dampier ranked 35th in the NBA in dunks last year.
Now common knowledge would say EA should have Dampier's outside shooting tendency at ZERO and his Mid Range shooting tendency at ZERO
Erick Dampier probably hasn't shot more than two 3's in his entire career and the last time i saw him shoot a jumper it was an air ball from the baseline any Mavs fans will tell you that shiit.
So why on earth does his DNA rating have him 50 in both areas
It's that type of stuff that confuses me. Now the game is better than i gave it credit for initially. But common sense at some point should tell EA that guys like Dampier regardless of what the DNA says doesn't even think about shooting jumpers. Even in the game his stroke is damn near perfect. Sure he misses the jumpers but the point is he should be shooting air balls or ugly azz shots if he even thinks about taking a jumper. He shouldn't come anywhere near having a good shooting touch. If you shoot with him he should missing wide and short on almost every damn shot outside.
That just like Off Ball awareness it says the ability to recognize scoring opportunities.
Now again the Mavs signed Marion because he's one of the best at scoring without having to create his own shot. He scores because he's constantly moving off the ball loking to dive cut or go back door on you for easy layups or alley oop's
Yet Marion is rated 68 and again my boi Dampier rated higher at 75.
WTF is that all about.....stone hands has absolutely 0 offensive game or awareness. He's a pick setter/screener that is his only job on offense besides being a windex man on the offensive glass.
This is what happens if Erick Dampier even launches a short jumper in the paint

Re: Anyway to tune down cpu 3 point aggressiveness?
PM i will say this bro that even though Damp has those numbers he never attempted a 3, thank god
but he is popping baby J's,
i got a question for you, is "inside shot" considered a trigger for J's or layups. because i dont want him shooting at all from no range now will his "aggressiveness" rating take care of his offense or should he still have that 60+ inside shot rating
i know that inside shot was the aggressive trigger for live 09 in terms of them driving to the hoop but this year they have that " at the basket" dna % that makes them drive also.....just a quick question?NOW PLAYING: NBA Live, madden 11,12, battlefield v, F1 2020 and injustice 2 and COD:MW

Re: Anyway to tune down cpu 3 point aggressiveness?
I thought we are currently using the DNA from last season correct??? If this is true then the DNA is a gimmick sort to speak. This DNA/Ratings is so confusing at times I just want a sim game. I really thing if EA takes each and every individual player and just tweak him to what he should truly be ratings wise we might have a gem on our hands. Also along with what some of the guys say about tweaking speed/agility individually then I think this game would just be a monster game. Peace!!!!The poster formerly know as "FLIGHTWHITE"Comment

Re: Anyway to tune down cpu 3 point aggressiveness?
unfortunately most of the vets on OS who tweak live are consumed and deeply involved in " the other game" at the moment.....
so i may be the only dude doing edits right now( to non movement aspects of live)
i would edit the whole league in 2 days since i am off this week but i was away from the nba the last 3 yrs, i was living in europe and football( soccer) is my passion lately so editing the new players would be hard for me since it was hard to get games there
but i know basketball and the kobe's, LBJ's types who were there before i know how they play since i was a basketball junkie but by mid season my roster will be sick.....
if anyone is interested in a community project we should do something but i think most people have bought into the daily updates and dont want to sacrifice that by using edited rosters...NOW PLAYING: NBA Live, madden 11,12, battlefield v, F1 2020 and injustice 2 and COD:MW

I think its more in reference to what he'd be more likely to do in that scenario given no other option (probalby with the shot clock winding down). I think a Shawn Marion type would probably slash to the basket or try to create...I don't know, but playing against the Mavs, I've never seen Dampier take a 3 point shot, but I've seen Marion take a couple. I don't think we fully understand DNA at the grannular level, even the Live developers admit there is so much data that its hard for them to implement it all.Comment

Re: Anyway to tune down cpu 3 point aggressiveness?
Thanks for the response guys, If this becomes a real problem that I notice in every game that the same amount of 3s of getting shot I guess I'll have to lower the players outside shooting likelyhood. But the problem with that is I wouldn't know where to start and by how much points every players should go down in that category. Any tips?Comment
