Don't be afraid to use defensive assist...

If you don't use it at all the game is going to be tough on D no doubt about it. Teams that use the PnR a lot can be shut down w/ this button.

Its tough to guard quicker players w/o because this games momentum is ridiculous so even the slightest stick movement can throw you off. So with those players def assist is a god send.

It also helps on fast breaks and scramble situations because it gets you to your spot quickly. Also whenever your in doubt on D just hold it down and it can save your *** Lol.

The last thing it will do is cause the stars to come out. This is good and bad for many reasons. Good because at least when your getting worked its no longer by Perkins or Kristic its by the stars.

Bad because you have to guard those guys more so you get to see how hard it is to stop them.

The last goody about def assist is that def stars come out too, so now KG and Dwight are actually useful to have.

Any time you get beat or if you have run a player into the help hold onto that def assist button and those guys should shut them down.

It sucks that this is the only way to get some proper defense going by your teammates but hey its better than trying to defend every player by yourself.

I hate the force field it creates between you and the ball handler. I wish it was just a defensive stance button. You're right though, it's pretty effective especially online.

I've started using this lately and now I see the CPU bigs lose the ball when they attempt to drive.

Personally I hate using it, I've found that when I use the CPU gets way more foul calls then if I go manual.

They do so its definitely a risk at times but it can save you a lot too, especially when you have a good defensive team.

For some reason my help D played a lot better when I used it at the right times. I actually so players getting blocked which never happened when I did everything myself.

I find myself using it throughout the game and dont mind it. I Pretty much just use it with a quick tap to get me in position and then I take it manually from there.
