FOR THOSE HAVING TROUBLE WITH OFFENSE IN NBA LIVE 10

Here's what I learned specifically about the game after much gameplay (I love this game by the way):

    1) Try Baseline high cam b/c the right stick is NOT camera sensitive. When you try from this angle and press back on the right stick, the player will step back etc.

    2) Run your offense with your quick plays to go to a player that you want to score

    3) On iso plays, if you have a quicker player against slower defender
    a) back up to the three point line

    b) take note of which hand your ball handler is dribbling (Ex. right hand)

    c) right stick in opposite direction (Ex. quick crossover to left hand)

    d) if you blow by (does not work all the time) press the turbo button and this
    the most important part:

    1) YOU MUST LEFT STICK AND PRESS THE SHOOT BUTTON IN THE
OPPOSITE DIRECTION OF WHERE THE HELP "D" IS COMING FROM (This is
    what EA calls layup solutions)

    2) The player will then go into an animation for a hop step or euro step for
an easy bucket, foul, miss, or block (Da_Czar spoke on this and as you
play you'll begin to notice that you won't see the same contact
collisions everyone is saying they see all the time)

    e) if you can't get around him take a step back jumper or one of those
momentum jumpers to get yourself separation. Also you might want to set
a pick to get some separation from your defender.

    4) YOU MUST TAKE GOOD SHOTS!!! You can go to the hole all game but the
defense will adjust and pack in the ;ane so you must vary your offense.
When the jumpshot is not going down go to the hole and vice versa. TAKE
    GOOD SHOTS!!!!

When you do these things the game will open up for you tremendously. These "layup solutions" and the simple crossover to the non ball hand have changed this game for me and put it on another level. You can also pass out of the potential layup if help "D" comes over to get your man a easy shot on the blow by.

Any other questions.... feel free to ask

    Thanks,

YOUR "FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD" NBA LIVE FAN

P.S. I am playing all-star with default sliders and "playing very well I might add"....lol

Game is really good. Good advice. It just lacks a lot of situational animations like players jumping the lane etc. Good thing the game play is good enough to keep me coming buck but I swear the animations make me feel like I'm playing on Xbox 1 at time. Live 11 EA has to go all out. The foundation is finally stable.

          FTW.

I agree...we have the tools, they just have to be learned.

Havent touched a single slider. I only wish for more a few more foul calls when I DO get smacked.

          I'd like to add another:

Make off ball control your very bestest friend.

Your center is being double teamed in the post, and the only guy open is a slasher, 20 feet away who cannot shoot?

Use off ball control, to send him diving to the basket, and pass to him on the cut for a the finish at the rim.

I haven't tried off-ball control yet. Just another aspect of the game I need to get into. Sportyguy I agree with you on the fall calls, however I get a good amount of free throws because I attack the rim a lot.

My only question is when to decide to dunk or when to try a "layup solution"? Is this dependent on their vertical, layup/dunk aggressiveness? I do not know.... but I do know that i hate getting my dunks blocked...(lol)

i jus posted a thread bout getting some help on offense. here our a few of my questions...

              1) do i need to hold down the shoot button in the post while doing a jump hook or up and under? or do i just push and let it go?

              2) I play wit da Wolves all the time...I can't shoot from the outside.
              3) I seem to have way too many turnovers from bad passes or getting the ball stolen
              4) is it better to play slow or to move the ball and player as quickly as possible? sometimes it seems if I slow down and wait fo the defense to settle, I can make a better move???

              thanks...

                1) The first question i would ask is are you actually running plays using the quick play button?

                2) You have to check the DNA for each player on the wolves to see who the shooter is (Is he a spot up shooter, can he shoot off the dribble)

                3) SLOW DOWN!! TAKE YOUR TIME!!! look at the angle for the pass. Does it look like a pass that could be stolen? (Use baseline high cam if you need to see the passing angles better)

                4) The only time you need to use turbo is on defense and when you pass your def

yes, i love using the quickplay option, it get ur cpu teammates moving and setting screens and helps a lot when running a half court offense. i used the pistons earlier and was using the quickplay button (RB) and rip hamilton was moving trying to get open and it worked great. and dynamic passing is also great once you get used to it, when u hold LT and just flick the right stick toward ur teammate to pass makes the passing game that much better when in transition or just for a quick dish inside.

                      absolutely.

                      helps immensley with your spacing.

I agree with this. You should know your plays fairly well. I often play as the Heat and I've learn their plays inside and out. I've got 4 to 5 options for each play depending who's hot.

You must know your players DNA. For the Heat, I know my best shooters off screens are Quinn, Beasley, & Charlmers. So once I get these guys their shots i'll start calling quick plays for them. My best play maker and one on one guy is obviously Wade. Learn to use picks & rolls or pop outs for those who can shoot the j. Once you've learned to use your moves with or without the right stick, you'll start hopping outta ya seat!!! Best post player, J O'neal. I know to iso him on the post and I've learn to use the various low post moves at my calling.

All of this stuff will come to you, but you have to be patient and work on them. Know you players abilities and have fun! Wang, Marcus and the crew have done a great job this year on giving us a solid fondation of bball and I for one haven't enjoyed Live like this since 2000(pc) which I considered to be the best Live ever...

I am glad I got the Buell- I love riding it, I love the oddball looks I get on the road- I love people asking "What IS that thing?" I love flying into a corner WAY too hot, scared spitless and sure I'll never hold it at this speed- and hearing the bike whisper "Sissy!"...

ok, so I have to really get in tune wit my team's DNA. For example, if Corey Brewer is wide open for a three...I maybe should turn it down? None of the Wolves players can shoot...lol it makes it tough.

With running any sort of plays, u guys are saying that it automatically creates more space and cuts, etc. I've been playing without it and I really have no sense of direction...everything is always plugged up and I'm gettin my passes stolen. Also, why do I shoot such a low percentage? I keep missing a lot of bunnies wit 'Big Al' Jefferson inside that I know he should make. Am I not using the right controls...

thanks for all da help guys...appreciate it!

This may seem like a dumb question but I'm used to seeing a mid-range, 3pt and close shooting ratings. Obviously we don't have those ratings present in the game this year because of DNA. So how do you "read" the DNA shooting page? I thought they were just tendencies?
                            Dallas Cowboys

I'm not like a lot of other folks on this thread. THERE ARE NO DUMB QUESTIONS!! There is a DNA shooting tendencies range as well as a DNA ratings page which has you midrange and 3pt shooting likelyhood. To access this just "right-click" on any player and use the L1,R1,L2, R2 buttons to get to the ratings section (Not sure exactly how to do it right now because I am not next to my PS3 but I'm close)
