    help with offense

Hey, I tried searchin previous threads for answers but really didn't get my questions answered so I'd thought I'd try them in a new thread. Ok, well I play with the Wolves all the time and they suck! hahah but in pro I was able to beat hte Cavs so I decided to bump up the difficulty to All-Star. Problem is, now I am getting blown out every game.

My main problem is I cannot score. Big Al is ok in the post, but not great. He always misses his turnaround hook...I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Do I need to hold the shoot button all the way through the hook shot or up and under move???

Also, I can't get any penetration to the hole, my team has no spacing, and I can't shoot for nothing...even on open shots. Please give me some tips to improve my offense!

    thanks!

You really need to focus on running plays and playing to the strenghts of your players. I always look for mismatches where I have an advantage. It will be a little tough with the Wolves because most teams are better then they are. If you play a team that uses a small lineup like the Warriors you should be able to put up good numbers with Big Al and by attacking the basket. The pick & roll is also very effective at creating open shots if executed properly.

I'm not really familiar with the Wolves DNA but it is very important to play to your strengths on offense. If you have a player who is not a jump shooter then don't take jump shots with him. Call plays that have your good jump shooters coming off screens for open looks and make sure you have a good angle to pass the ball or the CPU will intercept it. I hope this was at least a little helpful.

yea it was...thanks! I'm finding out that you have to run a lot of plays in the halfcourt? Is this true? It seems like in previous games with 2k or live all you had to do was move the ball...call fo a screen and u'd be set? is it really necessary to call plays???

The play calling system in Live this year is really good. Between the set plays, quick plays, & pick & roll I usually run something on every possession that I am in a half court offense. Always be on the lookout for mismatches especially if they switch on a pick. You can really dominate smaller players in side with a guy like Al.

by quick plays do you mean when you push R1?

Yeah the quick plays with R1 just send a guy on a cut or off ball screen. I really like the pick & roll system this year. If you have a good point guard who can hit jumpers and also finish at the basket well it can be lethal.

                  Re: help with offense

L1 is when you can choose your play. R1 automatically calls one for you like someone will try to get open with an off ball screen.

                    Re: help with offense

ok, so i've tried some of the things you guys have mentioned and i'm still struggling. haha haven't won a game yet in all star in dynasty mode, but I'm improving. I'm averaging around prolly 60-70 points a game for 10 minute quarters. I just cannot seem to get a good flow on offense. The only three players that score or shoot for me are Ryan Gomes, Big Al, and Kevin Love. I usually dump it inside to Al or Kevin and let them draw a double team and work inside to they get a bucket or miss a layup.

I don't know what to really ask for...I guess jus more general tips based on what I've posted so far.
