Me and my boys had some genuine fun times, playing Live 95 & 96. From then to now is amazing. Live 99, I played alot. Live 2002 was cool. From 03 to 09, all trash-irific. Live 2006 (360) had some insane graphics, though.

NBA LIVE 2010-arguably the best basketball sim ever made.

        Way to go, EA.

        Good post, FF!

NBA 2004 was number one, my starting lineup was IVERSON, IGUODALA, FINLEY, DIRK, SAMMY DALEMBERT, bench is HUGHES, KWANME BROWN, JUAN DIXON, CONNOR(random rookie), and some othersNBA 2005 was second favorite, my lineup was WADE, IVERSON, IGOUDALA, WEBBER, SHAQand i believe NBA 2010 will be top these two games, i really love the game...

I don't know steve - I think graphics improvement isn't jumping the leaps and bounds it used to. We're at a point where some people already can't tell real games from the video games - I think we've reached a point where investing in graphic enhancements is taking more time, and yielding less improvements.

Good stuff though, I had to forward this thread to a few friends of mine. One thing though - live 97 started the PS1 era, not PS2...

Live 98 I remember no matter what I did the CPU shot like 80-85 %, Shaq hit 3's like he was Ray Allen, the game was just bizarre. I still have the game sitting in one of those big PS1 boxes they used to ship it in. I'm going to have to pop it in my PS3 and see if still as frustrating.

Correction it was Live 96, just found it, with Shaq on the cover with the Magic.

My favorite is Live 95, 96 & 2000. Those were the best IMO.

Games have came a LONG way!
Funny thing is those games had no flaws in my eyes but now the games do?
They had flaws but we didnt expect very much. You know what I'm saying??

Yes they did, except we didnt have a name for it. Here is an example. I use to do this all the time.

                          NBA Showdown 94:
                          Glitch: The And 1
                          System: Sega Genesis
                          Level: Extra Extra Cheese

The And 1 glitch is on par with the rocket catch you see in Madden today. Here is how it worked.

It worked best with custom teams. I always had a front line of Muresan, Shawn Bradley, Brad Lohous. The backcourt always stockton and Dan Majerle. people naturally laughed because they had no idea about the glitch. What you would do is hoist 3 point shots with your guards or Lohous. Lohous was the best 3 point shooter in the game by the way so people would let me take the shot. The glitch happens when you shot the ball. You could quickly switch to your man under the basket, then hit the jump button when the ball was about to hit the rim. The ball would bounce of the rim and and land in your guys hand 10 out of to times. Wait about one second, go up and your guy would get a dunk and a trip to the free throw line every time if you time it right.

                          Coach K basketball
                          Glitch: Michigan cant miss
                          System: Sega Genesis
                          Level: Cheese-tastic

The Michigan glitch was a classic because it only worked with Michigan. If you were Michigan and the computer player was guarding you, your shooting range extended to about halfcourt. It worked with any player on the michigan roster. Just hoist away and it would go in. I remember going 30-33 from 3 point range against my brother. I would pass the ball round until he didnt switch to the closest man and I'd hoist away. Swish every single time.
I dont remember there names but they were allot of fun....

WOW! That was great! These vids are the reason why can't complain about the games today. I had just as much fun with those games as I am having now.

Just think about all the stuff that people complain about now...

wrong sock colors, signature shot is not the right one, wrong headbands, wrong helmets, etc....

I like the way they dribble up and down the court
Just like I'm the King on the microphone so is Dr. J and Moses Malone"

Man, Lakers vs Celtics!! I remember when I first saw this game in a gamepro mag. It was a small article talkin bout this revolutionary game by EA. I read how it had signature players with their actual moves. I couldn't stop reading this 2 paragragh artical with it's 4 pics of Magic, Bird, Jordan(doin the air reverse), & Barkley.

One weekend I go to my cousins' and there it was. I was in awe! And instantly fell in love! From that moment on I've been a video bball junkie. I still have all the games from Lakers vs Celtics to Live97 on my pc (emulators) and play them from time to time but nothing is like that first time.

Note: Live 2010 plays very similar to Live 2000(the best of the series)...
I am glad I got the Buell- I love riding it, I love the oddball looks I get on the road- I love people asking "What IS that thing?" I love flying into a corner WAY too hot, scared spitless and sure I'll never hold it at this speed- and hearing the bike whisper "Sissy!"...

I remember playing all of those, lakers vs celtics and bull vs lakers only exceptions I don't remember them that well i know I have played them but I never had a sega. NBA showdown 94 was great I loved playing that game. 2001 Live on the Playstation was my favorite Live game ever (not the ps2 version)
