How do you throw alley-oop dunks?

Anybody know how to get them to throw it down? All i ever get is the stupid lay-up ones that miss 80 percent of the time

The player just has to be closer to the basket. When you see them cut in, press triangle and then square once they catch it. Square might not even be necessary, but it's what I do.

Ally-oops aren't very common in the game, for the fact that people screw it up most of the time.
