I haven't been on the boards as much this past week(deadlines, baby), so I might be misinterpreting the issue. Not saying they can't be tweaked or look better, but I'm having no trouble running Miami out of the gym with the Thunder with the fastbreak. Counting FTs, I think only 8 pts came out of a half court set.

Am I the only one NOT having trouble with Fastbreaks?
I haven't really been keeping track of CPU fastbreaks, but is that the issue, or is it user fastbreaks? With the Thunder, I get them regularly on All Star level, and I'm really just picking up the game and messing around. I'll post pics as proof tomorrow(you'll have to trust me that it's on All Star), but I have 21 pts on 52% shooting with 10 pts coming from fastbreaks. Some of them were jumpers, some were layups, and there was a dunk. They've come off of blocked shots and missed baskets. Not sure if any came off of steals yet.

Re: Am I the only one NOT having trouble with Fastbreaks?
It's the CPU Born.
It's actually very easy to get fasbtreaks for the USER. The controls make it very easy to execute quickly and hit a big who is running down court or a wingman.
The CPU though...it's improved since Live 09 (fastbreaks were literally non existant)...but it's still very poor when you consider games back in 2003 had good fastbreak logic.
The CPU simply won't react to an open court a lot of the time.
Occasionally it does...so I am hoping that minor bit of hope means it is possible to be fixed with a patch.
Last season they said they couldn't patch it because there was no fastbreak cose.
Hopefully LIVE 10 has enough there to fix it.Comment

Re: Am I the only one NOT having trouble with Fastbreaks?
Thanks, CV. There were some people falsely indicating to me that user fastbreaks were a problem. As you said, when I checked I didn't find that to be the case. Overall, I think there are some core mechanics that will make the fastbreaks limited, regardless of what happens in the patch. The cause/effect of sprinting, chase down blocks and overall speed of certain transitions might have it be stilted, but hopefully some under the hood tweaks can get it to the point where the limitations are mostly cosmetic.Comment

Re: Am I the only one NOT having trouble with Fastbreaks?
Haven't played offline much but I don't recall the cpu getting too many fastbreaks. As a user I've never had a problem off or online.Comment

Re: Am I the only one NOT having trouble with Fastbreaks?
I see a lot of CPU fast breaks as a matter of fact they often are a source of losing for me because the CPU will get one or two then I try to respond quickly by taking a bad shot CPU fast FB's again repeat and the next thing you know I'm down double digits LOL. I've seen quite a bit by ATL with all there athleticism (they are the ones that stand out in memory). I've seen the CPU do X on 0, 3 on 1 and 3 on 2. I remember these because the commentators mentioned it while it was happening, LOL.Comment

Re: Am I the only one NOT having trouble with Fastbreaks?
I see some open court action out of the CPU. Especially if I play zone for a stretch or decide to have my team crash the boards.
They'll definitely push temp then...but not quite as much off of turnovers, or long misses as Id like to see.
I have little issue getting points in transition myself.Comment

Re: Am I the only one NOT having trouble with Fastbreaks?
I've never seen this since day 1....cpu running 3 on 2 or 3 on 1 is nonexistent....that's what the complaint is all about cpu not utilizing the fast break.Comment

Re: Am I the only one NOT having trouble with Fastbreaks?
well i have to say user is hard to execute a fast break because on allstar and superstar AI miss a lot less comparing to pro level, the defenders get back real quick so the pg must bring it up real quick as well and wait for the bigs to cut tot he basket for a easy dunk...Comment

User fast breaks are well done in Live '10, I have no complaints there. The CPU is okay, I can live with it though I wish they were more aggressive."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: Am I the only one NOT having trouble with Fastbreaks?
I don't normally use all the replay feature stuff but I when I next play the game I'll figure it out and upload or whatever you to post replays. I have saved a few to my hard drive and had them show up in the hangar, and seen the option to upload to ea...something or another.Comment
