    Off Ball Movement

Last night I was playing online, I was the Bulls, they were the Mavs.

The guy/girl i was playing kept flashing dirk into the lane while controlling his off ball movement while j kidd dumped it to him on the run time and time again. Noah's defense didn't help but still...

I tried it acouple times to see if it was really that effective. I'm sorry to say Joakim Noah cannot do the things Dirk does but I got the ball in the lane almost every time.

I stoped doing it cuz I hated playing like that. It's not sim.

I could not stop it. Is there a defense that would defend this any better? I tried man. I tried zone. I tried defending him with one guy. I tried defending him with 2 guys. Nothing worked.

Anyone else seen this? If so, were you able to stop it or is this an online cheese tactic.

That's what I was saying earlier as far as being another exploit. I was saying to remove the control from online at least ranked games. If not to give the defense more options because as of now you can't control all five guys on the court. So what people do is take a player come up to the free throw line and then just sprint towards the rim, it's really no way to guard it.

I suggest getting rid of it, takes away from what this game has to offer and puts it right back in arcade mode.

This is the only other possible exploit I've seen other than the stepback jumper.

I say possible, because I haven't played against it enough yet to say for certain that it's an exploit. You can do some things to stop it like play off ball defense and get in the passing angle. The passes are pretty easy to knock away.

It could be an exploit, but personally I'm not ready to call it one.

What I have already said on this subject is that the running around with turbo offball looks ridiculous. The players run way too fast and it doesn't look realistic at all. Maybe this game would also benefit from a turbo meter like 2k has.

Out of the few times I've seen this my opponent chose the Mavs. People run around off ball with Marion, Howard even more than Dirk.

You can't stop everything so you must stop the first thing they want to do. Usually the first thing someone wants to do is what they go to when things get tight.

The only time people get off crazy from behind the arc on me is the stepback 3. If they are using that technique then you have to focus on stopping that first and do your best defending the offball cheese.

I haven't been able to consistently stop the off-ball cheese, but I haven't seen it enough to practice against it. I see the stepback 3 damn near every game so I can actually stop that better.
