The Curious Case Of In-Game Injuries

During the 1 time out that the CPU calls in Live 10, I was just thinkin', wonderin' & of course ponderin'. While doing this, I noticed that during games after a guy takes a big hit in the paint, a guy will come up hobblin' and I'll hear Marv say, "He looks to be shaken up", or, "It looks like he's been injured on that play, I hope its not too serious", and I think to myself, 'Were there originally injuries in the code and it was not activated"?

I don't know a darn thing bout video game development other than that according to Maddens history, in-game saves seem to be impossible to put in, but is it hard to just flip a switch and drop in in-game injuries?

It seems like it was meant to be in there, due to the animation and the commentary. Couldn't they just send that guy to the bench and kick in some sort of coding where now has an achilles heel injury for a few weeks? I mean, if not, what the point? How can they call this realistic hoops when Eddy Curry plays all 82 games?
Can't they, here comes that word, patch this?

    Otherwise, Marv needs to STFU.

I agree it just dont undrstand how u can make a game which is very good but for dnasty people like myself who usually plays almost every game it really stinks. iknow ncaa last year had this problem and alot of people complain so i would think that they would make sure it is in the games.

I think the way its done now is cool for online play, it appears like one of the players gets banged up but there's no hit to his attributes. I always hated in 2k9 when one of my main guys would go down online.

In Dynasty mode though, which I've yet to get into, it would be interesting if these injuries actually had some consequences on gameplay. Are there other in game injuries besides these small "walk it off" types that you've seen?

In dynasty or elsewhere, there are no injuries in-game.
Just a lot of hobbling around and Marv ranting about it.

So, I haven't seen any others.
