Post Up Back Down Defense (and Offense) Questions

Hi I hope someone who's played a lot might know the answer to these questions I have.

First let me say why I am asking these questions.

I was playing someone (Cavs v. Knicks), both sim players, and the Knicks user was able to BACK DOWN Shaq with David Lee!

I was shocked considering Lee is much smaller.

    So my questions are:

    1. When playing DEFENSE, and someone is backing you down, is there any way to RESIST?

For example, does pushing the left stick towards the offensive player backing down slow him down? Does the right trigger (like in 2K) act to strengthen the resistance?

    2. (this is a corrolary of the first question), but when you're on offense backing down, and pushing the left stick towards the basket to back down (does using RT make the back down stronger, ala 2k?).

Thanks. I'm particularly interested if anyone knows for sure if when on defense, pushing the left stick towards the ball handler slows the ball handler/resists his back down (sort of like the mirror image stick use of what the player backing down does).

Thoroughly enjoying this game after switching this year from 2K since being with 2K since 2K3.

Re: Post Up Back Down Defense (and Offense) Questions

Somebody has to know about these questions.

I've played around with it and it "seems" RT doesn't make backing down stronger. But I'd like to hear from someone who knows for sure.

And still not sure if on defense, pushing LS into post player while he's backing down resists the backdown or makes backing down more difficult.

    Anyone ???

Pushing the RS in the same direction you would useto take a charge.

You can also move the LS back up against him or towards his ball hand.

If you hold the right stick up with Shaq... you might be surprised at what happens. Shaq might get one of those block animations as soon as he shoots it. But yea I've found you can push into them. lol, but what you should really be ashamed of is playing the Knicks with the Cavs and having any complaints

thanks sporty & ILL ... i didn't think to use RS up or down on defense ... i'll try those out ...

appreciate the tips as sometimes live is frustrating (especially still being used to 2k) ... but tips like these make the game even more enjoyable for me ...

          thanks
