Am I the only one that actually LIKES the pre-patch play?

I'm on PS3 so I haven't seen the patch, but it's kind of like the NBA changing to the composite ball then changing back. I'm adapted to the game now.

I don't want more fouls (even though blocks are crazy stupid sometimes), and I don't want bigs to lose the ball less inside.

What's wrong with the game now? Why can't they fix it through ratings? Why does it need to be patched? The only problem, for me, is that three pointers are a little too good... but even then it's not a game breaker. Not saying the step back isn't overpowered but it ISN'T unstoppable. I've adapted.

    I LIKE THIS GAME!

OH, and one thing that does need to changed (and probably won't be) is that you can call timeouts while losing the ball. Did you know that? I even called a timeout once in team play when someone accidentally chucked it backcourt. They paused it like "NOO" and I was just spamming select. Lo and behold, timeout!

Since I moved from All-Star down to Pro and switched back to the Broadcast cam (animations & game as a whole doesn't look as awkward from this angle) I'm loving the gameplay again.

My biggest complaints were the lack of fouls in the paint on All-Star, mostly with guards who never get to the FT line from my experience.

I totally agree. Playing on Pro, default sliders and I've had some really great games that have gone back and forth till the end.

The other night, I took Steve Nash the length on the court with 5.4 seconds left, down by 1 and he banked a floating runner to win. I couldn't believe I made the shot and it the exact type of shot Steve Nash would take in that situation.

To say I'm a little worried of what the game might be like post patch would be an understatement.

Are you playing on default sliders, pro difficulty, after the first patch? Are you playing 12 mins quarters? and last but not least, are you getting realistic stats?

            The answer is "sometimes"

I like that I'm able to get rewarded with a trip to the line.

someone mentioned the broadcast cam. I have been trying it again, and noitced that it is actually easier to read the angles and either avoid or draw contact, then it is on the baseline cams. Odd but true.

I just cannot play D on the broadcast cam without it completelly elevated, for some bizzare reason.

Overall..I like the game post patch alot. It took me about a half dozen games to get used to it.

My first 3 post patch games, I was pitching a holy fit.

I'm a PS3 player and I do like really like the game as it is.. imo there doesnt need to be really any massive changes to the gameplay.

The only complaints I have are:

              Rebounding is hit and miss
If you block a dunk its often called goaltending
Not enough fouls, this can be improved a lot by pushing the appropriate sliders to max though.
Every now and then the CPU will just stand past the halfcourt line, not doing anything for 20 seconds and hurl long 3 at the buzzer.

              Otherwise it plays really well.

Trust me guys for those that are concerned about the game after installing the patch.
You have nothing to worry about. The game still plays great with some fine tunning that is all.

This years live really is a great game and im loving it. I finally moved up to all star level, but definitely needs slight slider adjustments on how the cpu recovers on defense. Once i get the right balance I will be in heaven

i'm just curious cause I have been playing with cabrillo's allstar sliders and If I can go back to default sliders and get the same if not better experience, I will!!

Have a lot of you been playing with default sliders since the patch?

Did you mean when you're playing at home, the difficulty is allstar and when you're away, it's superstar? the difficulty should be higher when you're not at home, am I right? has anyone else been playing this way?

Agree with the cpu standing for 20 sec, i hate that, but htat doesn't happen ALL THE TIME, like once in a while they will, once or twice in one game or soemtimes never whihc is okkk for me, adn the rest of the things you mention the patch doesn't even fix those, so i wonder if we can NOT download it?

I'm tweaking pro more and more, default pro is definitely a cake walk.

How to you make the home/away settings different? My "away" is always grayed out and it automatically changes to whatever I make the home team.

I play 10 minute quarters, haven't installed any patch yet (PS3). I'm getting realistic stats for my liking, however I'm far from being overly concerned about checking each individual stat after every single game. As long as the final score is realistic and the shooting percentages aren't too high, I'm happy. I usually have good free throw numbers too.

I guess I'm just not as good as most people on here but I don't have a ton of time to play and when I do, I find that I enjoy Pro the most right now. To each his own I guess.

It is getting easier though, but I'll probably just tweak the sliders as opposed to moving up to all star.

My biggest beef with the game post patch is the "improved" reception logic. I can't get my damn shooters to stay put on the perimeter. Nearly every time I drive and kick my shooters, who are generally in good position on the 3pt line, take a few steps in towards the defense when they receive the pass.

Before the patch the perimeter game was nearly perfect, now it can be downright frustrating, especially online.

Last night I had a chance to tie the game with a 3, I drove with Paul and drew the defense in before kicking out to a perfectly placed Peja in the corner for a 3, instead of staying put where he should be Peja took 2 steps in while receiving the pass. He hit the shot, but because shooters don't seem to have any concept of where they are on the court it was a long 2.

FRUSTRATING. The reception logic was fine before the patch. Please either put it back to the way it was before or tweak it so shooters stay on the perimeter and don't step into the defense when they receive passes.
