Re: Shot Release
Re: Shot Release
Same with me. I brought the game the day it came out and still have yet to shoot over 42% in a game. From lay-ups to wide open jump shots, I miss them all the time. Slow release or fast, it doesn't seem to matter. I can't buy a bucket. Please somebody get ya boy right!!! -

I think iminurbase or steph said the other day that the timing of your release has little to do with if you make the shot, it's more DNA and ratings."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

I've played guys online that use Kobe or any high jump shot rated shooter make at most 8-9 consecutive shots at a TIME no matter contested, off the dribble.Comment

Re: Shot Release
I remember Mike Wang saying in the shooting tutorial that shot releases really did matter this year. I'm having trouble shooting as well. I seem to have much more success when I release at the top of the player's shooting animation which is generally at the top of the player's jump most of the time.
I shot 52% in the first half of my last game and most of my shots were jumpers. In the second half something went bad and I ended with only 37.9% at the end of the game. These are my opinions based off of my perspective. I don't expect everyone to agree with me, but if you disagree, we can still agree to disagree agreeably and not fight about it.Comment

Re: Shot Release
What I do is watch the shooter's shooting hand, most of them will kinda flick or double pump the ball twice during the animation I watch for the first flick then try to release at the end of the 2nd flick/pump. Some players (Andre Miller and Steve Blake come to mind) more or less rotate or slide there hand behind the ball as their animation plays out. I try to time watch their shot and release just as their hand is behind the ball. Use those little hand movements as your ques to each player release points and you'll shoot much more consistently. I find it satisfying knowing I released properly but the CPU just played good D or I just didn't take a "hittable" shot, instead of wondering did I release properly.Comment

Re: Shot Release
I have to disagree with you homie. I know for a fact that DNA is the main thing that drives shooting and the shot release does affect your shooting accuracy. That comes from the developers. These are my opinions based off of my perspective. Re: Shot Release
Regardless of what any developer tells you. Im playing right now. Ben Gordon and Joe Johnson hold the ball almost till their feet touch the ground and it still goes it almost everytime. Maybe its just them.Comment
