I can say I played the Cavs vs Lakers yesterday on the PS3 version with the updated DNA and LBJ was controlling the game from beginning to end. When the game 1st came out Mo Williams was taking all the shots. I got rid of the game after it kept freezing up on the 360. Glad I gave it another shot because it plays a lot different in a good way. Peace!!!!

DNA is definitely improving with each passing week. Outside of one or two 12-15' fadeaways from Duhwight I just played a quality game against the Magic.
For some reason Wilson Chandler and Al Harrington are wearing black sneakers at home now with white socks, not sure what happened there."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Going on LIVE 09....DNA gets better and better as the season goes on. Last year it was terrible at the beginning and rose to pretty good by seasons end.
I am not really sure why DNA was so bad to start this season...surely they'd just be continuing from the end of the previous season?
I will probably get this game again cheaply (if patch 2 is good) around playoff time. The entire season of DNA will have kicked in by then. Last season was good for the playoffsComment

Anyway, the game is definitely the most enjoyable it's been so far. The contact issues are really all that bothers me about the gameplay anymore and the more I've played I have noticed that this directly correlates to the lack of the CPU's transition game, you can just run back with any defender and get in front of the ball handler and stop him dead in his tracks. If you don't do that they the CPU gets to the rim just fine, there needs to be a middle ground in Live 11.
However, the game is missing a mode that really grabs me in and forces me to keep coming back for more. The game play is fun but there has to be something more. As of now I play a few exhibition games every third day or so to take a break from CH2K8."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: DNA/Dynamic Season Correction Thread
Agree totally re no mode that grabs you.
I am cruising through my 2K10 season...it's got me completely hooked. College Hoops also had me hooked for ages.
LIVE will be fun come playoff time for that mode, but it's terrible for season mode and dnasty mode.
I am interested in what they'll come out with for patch 2 though.
It's been a long time since the first patch dropped. The 2nd one has been "working on" status for ages. Surely they'll come out with something meaty? 2K added new animations and new defensive AI code.
LIVE can surely come out with a transition game fix? Rebounds fixed etc? It's been a long time...this is their chance to step up.
A "we've tighted the gameplay and made it harder to shoot 3 pointers online" type patch would be very poor after this long.
A kick *** patch with legit gameplay stuff would be a huge step forward for EA basketballComment

Re: DNA/Dynamic Season Correction Thread
Well, i've read somewhere here from a producer that guys working on DNA updates has been changed and for the new guys to sort everything out took a little time, i believe that's the reason why it was that bad at the begining.Comment

Re: DNA/Dynamic Season Correction Thread
The game ships with last years cumulative DNA... I think its a bit of a placebo affect that it is 'messed' up at the beginning of the year.Comment

Re: DNA/Dynamic Season Correction Thread
With the DNA from last week...LBJ brought the ball up, shot from the type of places he does in the NBA, drove, pulled up. Perfect.
That seems more than a placebo effect? Seems like legit changes.
I know you probably can't answer...but the DNA seems to have got guys like LeBron, Wade, Kobe down perfect.
But bigs like Shaq and co. are not even close. Is it just that the game lacks a post game and therefore DNA can't help those guys? The swingmen and guards are some of the best I've seen in an any NBA game with the the DNAComment

Re: DNA/Dynamic Season Correction Thread
You guys ever think that maybe the DNA stuff is off in the beginning is because possibly with teams making moves in the off season the DNA wont have a flow of how all these guys will play together? Couple that with some teams getting DNA updates as they head into the playoffs also. One thing I notice with real life playoff action versus regular season action is that teams play very different than usual.
PS: I wish someone would give us the word on why the sim lobby went down in difficulty. I don't want to be "that guy" but I'd like to know.Last edited by randombrother; 12-02-2009, 04:46 AM.Comment

Re: DNA/Dynamic Season Correction Thread
I am kind of surpirsed the producers say "hey, it's a placebo effect" as if this stuff isn't real....this stuff a lot of fellas here have pointed out is cold hard fact. At one point, Andrew Bynum had a higher 3 point likelihood than Lamar Odom. Stuff like that is all through the game. It can't be "that" hard to know that Lamar shoots 3 balls and big Bynumm doesn't. I doubt there'd be a semi interested NBA fan on the planet who doesn't know that...Comment
