Its just about completely absent this year...

Tired of seeing balls sell over my head when I anticipate where the ball is headed. Its almost like you have to press the X button 5 secs in advance for them to even swing their arms...

I realize this prevents stealing the inbound cheese....if thats it main goal, turn it off for inbouns...but deflections are a big part of defense...this has to be present...

See this is what kills me. People complained about it last year and now its gone.

That said what I dont like most about it is, the CPU will pick off a bad pass of yours every single time while you cant even lift a finger.

I promise I wish devs would stop making games just for cheesers. The chances are always high that they'll find exploits anyhow.

The number would be reduced significantly if they just stop playing so many randoms.

I agree 23, this was also one of the few things that got worse with the patch but the CPU is also not as good at it IMO. I can be pretty careless passing the ball now, pre-patch I really had to watch my angles and distance. Now, meh...same old basketball passing.

I didnt have an issue with it myself. You could lunge out at the ball and get steals but you didnt always get them

Same with playing on ball defense. You could lunge at the ball when the ballhandler was in the protect the ball stance and you were sitting on his shoulder. Now you can't do either.


Thing is though, there were alot of things in Live 09 that are now gone that you'd wonder why its no longer there

Yep. My favorite is when I get between the player I'm guarding and the inbounds pass and it just goes through my players head.

Exactly.. they took a ton of the good from Live 09, and left it out of Live 10... Also this passing lanes thing does get ridiculous, as the computer even has an intercept animation and the user controlled player doesnt even have that animation... LOL..

I could understand them taking it out to an extent on the inbound plays but jeez, on defense entirely... C'Mon EA..

Now this does tick me off. Have you noticed that the CPU will absolutely climb over the top of your big men and intercept a post entry pass? (Part of this is due to some of the same positioning the big men establish: 2-3 feet outside of the post area for example.)

Your teammates absolutely will not do this.

You will occasionally throw a errant post entry pass, but the CPU never wil..

To me it was spot on, at first the inbounds stealing made me mad, but I adapted. I used to live in a house with 5 other ppl and we all played live. The inbound stealing worked for about a week, until we all realized not to mash on the a button as soon as the shot is made (that would make ur player stand still while the inbounder passed to him, making inbound steals very easy). After awhile i would make lil schemes and quick moves to get open (one of my favs would be to stand still like I had already pressed A and when the D comes toward me I shoot to the baseline to get the inbound) and/ or pass to someone other than the PG (i.e. use myself as a decoy to run the D away from who i really wanted to inbound to) after awhile ppl had to play me honest and back off from tryin to get the steals.

To me that made the full court press actually useful, this year the d just stands next to the offensive player and doesn't even try to deny the inbound/make it difficult, or anything.

What i do like this year is if u start mashing the a button right after the shot is made for the most part you can still move around as the ball is inbounded. I Think I've had a handful of times where they made my man stand still.
