It makes the game highly predictable and you end up swatting about ten blocks a game almost by deafault.

LIVE is a much better game all round.
live has the same issue when rebounding the ball. the cpu never resets the offense. on every rebound it goes right back up wit h the shot.
i know it's not as much of a headache as the ncaa issue but it is still there.

I will concede that 2K is probably the deepest basketball experience for the money, but there are a few gameplay issues that make the game almost UNPLAYABLE for me...
      1) Why does the computer consistantly start every game dropping a 75-80% FG percentage against me?
      2) The computer WiLL NOT miss 3 pointers...ever
      3) If 2K actually allowed you to play defense, there would still be no way to stop the cpu's ridiculous shooting percentages.

....Pretty game, but even with all of the patches it is broken beyond the point of being able to play it without messing with sliders for hours. Just my opinion though!

The big thing about switching over to Live, is that you must "de-2k" yourself, and vice versa.

Get familiar with the DNA %. The game relies heavily on it.

Otherwise you'll get frustrated, and start ranting and raving on here, that you cant shoot with star players.

Dont be trying to shoot a lot of 3's and long 2 point jumpers with Kobe for example.

Post him up, and get him to the rim.

Learn the DNA, and the layup solutions, when to use and not use turbo, and you'll have yourself a great time with Live.

I've been playing 2k10 for the last 2 or 3 months. I just played Live 10 for the 1st time today and it's a good game. @k has some thing I like but I played Live like a sim and it was really good. I was the Bobcats vs the Lakers. The only thing I didn't like was the subbing was bad and Fisher had 31 pts and Bynum had 32 but it was a good game. I lost by 9 (115 to 106)
          PS3, we had a good run! (7/18/09-10/5/14)

Re: Is it worth it for me?

Yesterday, being a miserable, snowy day, was Live Day for me. I actually took the time to go in and practice (I bet I spent 2 hours on scrimmaging full and half court, lol), read the manual, watched Da Czar's videos on Youtube, and played a ton of games.

I finally realized how to control an off ball player to create a scoring situation and controlling a player to move him to a space. These two features opened up a whole new dimension of offense for me. I would survey the set and create my own play as the movement unfolded. Made me feel so much more of a micro-manager, pretty cool.

Da Czar's video on player movement opened my eyes to what I have been doing wrong. What's cool, I watched the Nuggets/Hornets game last night; CP3 in real life does exactly what the cyber CP3 does.

The one area I wish Live was like 2k is in alerting you of substitutions. It is a guessing game knowing who is in the game for the other team. Doesn't allow you to make matchup changes. That's my only wish though, oh and numbers on the sliders. It is impossible for me to set sliders, I don't know where in the heck I am number wise.

Very true. The hard core / SIM/ coaching aspects of LIVE are pretty much non existent. I don't know why, but they've had the same basic coaching options forever now.

You set LBJ SF to be double teamed...he gets subbed out or moved to SG by the CPU.......and now you are stuck double teaming Anthony Parker.

2K10 allows you to specifically assign defensive match ups + has a whole level more of depth (double team in post only etc)...always have Ron Artest assigned to guard LBJ no matter which position he is moved to etc etc.

It would be nice if LIVE added all this stuff.

It's a must for Live 11. More coaching options whicever they implement i want them all especially on the d side..

Exactly. Hard to sim this way. So much that is right about this game, for some reason I give it a pass.
