    A "thanks Beluba" thread...

Now that Beluba has officially left EA, I am not sure where to put this. Mods can move it to the 'other' forum if you think that's better.

I doubt Beluba is reading here anymore...

However, if he is, I'd just like to say 'thanks' for the effort over the years.

I am not really a 'gamer'. I don't play many games apart from bsketball ones. Over the years, I've got a tonne of enjoyment out of NBA Inside Drive and 2K. A lot of that is down to Beluba.

I was critical of some aspects of LIVE this season, but there's absolutely no doubt that the game was moving in a good direction. A lot of that was due to Beluba. I guess, like a lot of others here, we've enjoyed his 'style' of basketball games.

Unfortunately, that 'style' doesn't always sell. (Inside Drive's sales were ridiculously low and Live 10 sold less than LIVE 09...which is just insane, but i guess that's the market).

He was always a great communicator and a guy who was willing to listen to feedback...both positive and negative.

Anyway...good luck with your future Mike.

Agreed. Cheers to the guy who got me really into b-ball videogames and hopefully he'll land somewhere that can take advantage of his talents. Pity that we probably won't see any of his work this year, because both games really need some help.

Best of luck to you in the future, Mike (if you're reading).

        Yeah big ups to Beluba.

Through the years, he has been a producer that has always been an extension of this community.

And that has been much appreciated from a diehard bball fan like myself.

Best of luck in his next professional move.

I wonder if he's even going to keep doing basketball games - maybe he left to work on a completely new genre.

                        Re: A "thanks Beluba" thread...

I forgot to thank Mike - hopefully he is not leaving basketball games completely...if so then I guess I should thank him for the great work he's done with basketball video games. I don't know how much he had to do with the direction of 2k and Live when he worked for them, but I have a feeling he was a big part of both games and It's probably no coincidence that I have followed him from game to game (I played 2k when he was with them, and then switched to Live when he came to EA) - and it's not because of him as a person, I just thought Live 10 played better than 2k in a lot of ways...it's a sad day indeed, but hopefully the Live dev team can continue what they started with Mike rather than starting over from scratch.

Got to say that I created this thread just presuming Beluba would be out of the industry for a while.

I mean, surely he wasn't going back to 2K? Leaving LIVE, I was just presuming he'd gone off and got another job non basketball gaming related. Thus the 'thanks' thread.

                              But he has joined 2K.
