Now this is the real ETHER:
If those bigger and better things, is your competition.... you guys ethered yourselves, especially after him leaving them for you, only to go back to them. I can only imagine what Live is gonna look like in the fall. Now that Mark Turmell is there, I hope it not NBA Jam Live 11.

The gameplay was certainly improved, but it did need some improvements as well, most notably, the post game. If they fix that, I'd be really happy.
But yeah, it is scary to hear them talking numerous gameplay changes when for the most part, Live 10's gameplay was spot-on. I play default All-Star and aside from my poor shooting, the stats in this game are always nearly identical to what you see in real life. The floor spacing, plays, half-court game is so well-done that it keeps you coming back for more.
The crowd atmosphere in the game is also well done and the arenas look nice but there needs to be more stat overlays, replays (not just those little highlight packages at random times and replay of EVERY foul) and dynamic commentary.Note to Tiburon Marketing:

I shouldve clarified it more. Beluba stated in his interview he left around November. That means since then that Blackflash and the rest of the dev team were working on Live 11 knowingly without Wang since November.
Then 2k makes a announcement saying big news on such a day, and the day before that Live comes out with a blog saying Mike left after the fact. So all Blackflash was doing is nothing but damage control.Last edited by noshun; 02-04-2010, 04:05 PM.NBA Live is the epitome of Cancel Culture..

In my opinion, the only thing that makes live 10's gameplay seem so good is that prior to that game coming out, the gameplay was so very bad. The sad part for EA sports is that in spite of all of the flaws 2k10 released with, It was still a much better game than live10.
I honestly believe that mike wang left because he realized that no matter how much work he put into nba live, they would never actually catch up to what 2k was offering. I think he realized that EA's goal was never to make the best basketball game, but the most profitable one. I can almost gaurantee that Ea sports is not changing the direction of the live franchise because changing the direction of a franchise takes money, and I believe that with the departure of mr. wang and others, ea will take away a lot of the financial support from the franchise. Basically, nba live fans should expect to be playing nba live 10 with new bells and whistles for the next 6-7 years before EA starts to invest the money and time that it takes to really improve the franchise the way it needs to be.Comment

No. Anybody must admit that there were a number of things Live 10 did better than 2K10, even if they like 2K10 better. You can't honestly say the controls and playcalling in 2K10 are better than those in Live 10. Plus, with the newest DNA updates, the tendencies for each team are pretty much spot on.
Don't just discredit the game like it has nothing good to offer.Comment

SMH SMH SMH !!!
Didn't want to believe this, but it's true. Like some have said already, it's more that the fact Mike is gone, we all know that one guy can't do everything. But the fact he's saying the "DIRECTION" of Live is what he is at odds with, now that is what hurts the most. Live 10 for me was the FIRST playable Live this gen, and I attribute it LARGELY to not just Mike, but the EA team trusting him and getting on board with his vision and direction for Live, and following thru on it. I don't care what anybody says, Mike's departure is HUGE because no Live team, or EA in general, can be trusted to create a playable bball game in my book. They NEEDED someone like Mike there to say "No, that doesn't work. No, we need to get this mechanic right. No, no more gimmicks this time."
With this news, Live 11 literally went from a definitely purchase, to a "play the demo and, it better be nearly freaking perfect for me to spend $60 for this."
But it is exciting news also. Because I have been getting into 2K10 for the past month or so and that's all I care about, having a great bball game to play. Hearing that Mike is back on board turns any and all anticipation I had for Live, and transfers it to new hopes and prayers that he can at the very least bring SOME KIND of precise control to 2K for 2K11. Movement in 2K since 2K9 has been a mess, and if he can at least implement half of the great dribbling and movement out on the perimeter that he brought to Live 10, and 2K11 will blow our minds.
SMH @ EA. They never fail to disappoint.NOW PLAYING:

I think this will be make or break year for live. If live doesn't put everything on the table then it might be hard for them to ever catch up.Comment
