I appreciate Nba Live 04-06 even more after playing recent live games so long

Nba live crew should atleast consider taking a look at nba live 04, 05 and 06 pc/ps2. The three did a good job focusing on the basics that are not even in recent Live games. Like the defensive controls were better, nba live 06 fastbreaks were best of any live, dynasty stats were realistic and the substitutions were better.

yes i completely agree although i am a 2k guy nba live 05 was the best one made

NBA Live 05 is one of my favorite all time basketball games.

This game is miles better then Live 06. Free Style Superstars were a circus.

The play calling, fastbreak, shot selction and ball movement in 06 was better than 05. That is if you used good sliders. 05 just had better sliders out of the box. 06 had fss but it didnt get out of hand until nba live 07. Plus 2k6 was really good that year when they introduced the shot stick.

I remember loving how physical Live 05 felt in contrast to 2K5. Contact in the paint was really well done in that game.

10 man mo-cap (I think that is what they called it) helped Live look as good as it did (at the time).

I also miss Live '05. The game feels more like it this year but '05 still had a more complete package.

This engine can go far and beyond Live '05 though. The question remains... will it?

04 was great on the pc and just not for all things that i could do in the game. And i really enjoyed 06 on the 360. I feel that is the last good live they have made( have not played 10 yet). And this is coming from long time 2ker that grew up on live since 1995.

Did NBA Live 2006 even have a Franchise Mode? Or am I thinking of the Next Gen one? NBA Live 2005 was a great game, so physical.

I did.....it was the most realistic NBA Live to date hands down.

I had to literally change every teams playing style to fit their star players

But after that the game was awesome. Fast breaks were great, Stars played like Stars and the animations back then were sick.

Hell they could have portated that game to the 360 version and I would be still playing it because it was that damn good.

Also, that was the last NBA Live game when the CPU actually mixed up their defensive sets during the game based on the plays you assigned them....

True, but Live 05 had that also, but without all of the dang skating, and the free style superstar nonsense.

I still believe that Live 05 was the peak of the series.

Every team had a specific coaching profile. the CPU switched defenses, they'd run a trap at you, if you were rolling with a star perimeter player, and called an iso, when they played full court D, they played it with more intensity, it was hard to beat the cpu on the road.

Playing the sacramento kings was a different then playing the pistons. Kings would play soft team defenses, while the Wallace's would be wrecking havoc ..etc..I can go on and on. I absolutely loved Live 05.

Yup. Freestyle superstar was absolutely terrible in its execution. Completely ruined the series.

Idea was a good one. But the way they implemented it... terrible.

Ya, live 05 was amazing, sometimes, I wonder why the series is going worse and worse? I mean, they should simply keep everything in that game and simply make the graphics look better, update the team style, players, etc etc...and the game is already perfect, is funny how they hit the perfect game already and they want to make it worse....i remember i won the champinoship with iverson, iguodala, finly, dirk, and sammy dalembert, it was such as great and fun year, i really hope they can go back and look at that game, and then simply take everything from it, improve the graphis, them live 11 will already be perfect

Live 05 was easily the best of the series.

That was a game that you simply wanted to play every day...or at least I did.

The freaking rebounding tips, defensive stances, chants, freestyle, user-controlled mid-air adjusted shots, etc.

I remember consistently being able to get 18+ rebounds a game with a superb rebounder because you were rewarded for hitting the glass and going up for the ball.

You were rewarded at the FT line for going to the rim with contact and holding your shot til you felt the contact.

This was THEE game.

I remember how good Live 06's fastbreaks were I mean a 3 on 2 was like a real-life 3 on 2 with spacing, guys running the wings, etc.

It seems like they tried to recapture 05 with 10 with all the kicks and jerseys but they can't capture that intangible that really makes you want to play this game all the time.

Is Live 05 backwards compatible? I might have to pull out the original xbox and rebuy this for a 2 bucks

Whats sad is this game had way more animations than the current gen game ever had
