Chauncey Billups and the struggle with jump shots

OK, so as you can see by my avatar, I'm a Nuggets fan. When I play as the Nuggets, I can get points for everyone ... except Mr. Big Shot.

I try releasing his jumper late (the hitch method), nothing. Try early release, same result. Try releasing at apex of his jump, still no luck.

Billups' lack of scoring brings down my FG% a ton; I wind up shooting 2-of-15 or something like that most games with him. Very frustrating.

Anyone have any tips to figuring out how to shoot well with Billups?

it seems the release point is off for everybody, I use the Lakers n the toughest is Kobe...it frustrates me but jus continue to test it and you'll find a comfortbale rhythm

Yessir....i cant shoot w/ Kobe at all lol..the problem is i don't know if he just misses or am i missing the release. But, most ppl online cant shoot w/ kobe either so idk.....I can shoot good w/ David West, but i am horrible w/ DWill..they have the same shot tho. lol

I can shoot great with kobe and DWill but i totally agree with you about billiups. I have tried releasing the ball at every point of his shot and cant make a shot with him.

Heh when I was playing Live a lot, he was my go-to scorer until he got into that mini shooting slump and the DNA killed his shot. I release it slightly before the peak of his jump and had good success... dunno if it's changed in the last few months or not. I struggled with JR and Melo more than Billups..

I have the same problem with Wilson Chandler. Dude just doesn't like to hit shots for me.

you have to drive with melo, i got 23 pts with him first game after he got tradedd to raptors

You don't have to drive with Melo. That man is money anywhere on the court. I also have trouble with Billups and I can't shoot with Nene. Actually I can't shoot with people who barely jump like Bargnani or Okur.

its a shame we cant see his hot sopts( or maybe i dont know how to) from live 09

i usually get him to hit them from the point where the baseline starts from the top of the key( that angle) and dead center maybe 27 ft
