There are 2 types of cheesers in Live 10:
1.) 3 pt cheesers who jack up 3's with mo williams and steve nash all game long. I have come across some who use the cavs and they will put daniel gibson in the starting lineup and they will use gibson, parker, or mo williams to jack up cheap 3's all game long - unfortunately Live allows certain players to make terrible 3's even when there is defender right in front of them.
2.) the second type of cheeser is the "spin move abuser." these a-holes will control a guy (like kobe, lebron, carmelo) and will do endless spin moves in the paint OVER AND OVER AND OVER...then once they get right under the hoop they shoot and will usually pick up a bunch cheap "auto-suction fouls in the paint" that Live is notorious for.
I have found that a good way to stop both types of cheesers is to hold down the the circle button (ps3) a lot on defense. this causes your defenders to double team the ball handler. you MUST keep the circle button held down as long as you want your defenders to double, as soon as you release the circle button your defenders will stop doubling and will go back to their man.
to stop spin move cheesers: always take control of your center and keep him near the paint to defend the hoop...then hold down the circle button to direct your guards/forwards to double the ball handler. release the circle button to make them go back to their man. when you hold down circle button, it will cause your players to double team whoever has the ball - this prevents spin move abusers from spinning constantly, and it stops inside shots. as soon as you see the spin move cheeser start to move toward the paint, hold down cirlce and he won't be able to spin much. while you are doing this position your center right under the hoop so that even if the cheeser gets by the double team, you will have the center waiting for him. even if he does get near the hoop, he will have 2 double teamers and the center you are controlling (3 defenders) draped all over him and he will usually miss the inside shot. Also, when contesting shots in the paint, DO NOT hold down turbo when you press the block button. If you hold down turbo when attempting blocks your player will suction to the shooter and be called for a cheap shooting foul. it's best to almost never hold down turbo on defense, as it will cause you to suction to shooters and pick up tons of shooting fouls in the paint.
for 3 pt cheesers, take control of your center to guard the paint, and allow the cpu to guard the ball handler...then just briefly hold the circle button when guarding the perimeter, this will cause your CPU teammate defender to get closer to the ball handler and prevent him from making cheap 3's...it's too risky to double team on the perimeter, since the cheeser will usually pass to another open 3 pt shooter...so just holding down circle for about 1-2 seconds is good enough to make the cpu defender guard the ball handler closer.
