I also think that Live has some serious potential. However, I'd be very surprised if there wasn't at least one aspect of the game that is seriously flawed enough to keep me away.

For example, EA made great strides with MVP baseball this year. However, if you're into simulations, you might be thrown off by the fact that the computer usually pulls their pitcher in the 3rd or 4th inning of EVERY game and sometimes starts them the next day too. The fact that EA would let such a thing happen shows there is something seriously wrong with their approach.

So, in the same light, I expect a nice showing from EA, but with some big flaws. And of course, no online play for xbox is a big deal to me.

Well, my personal opinion last year was that Live was a nice game if played on Superstar level. The speed wasn't as much of a factor on that level. However, the blocks were out of control, and the help defense was lacking. They seem to have addressed those issues with the '04 game. The 10-man motion capture looks incredible. The game looks very fluid, and with the other minor tweaks, like adjusting your shot in mid-air, the jump-stop animation, and sliders, I've got...high hopes for this game. The only let down? No championshiop teams. I was REALLY looking forward to this. Next year, I guess...

I'm not a Live fan but this years game definately will be an upgrade from past editions it seems. "10 man animations" now that's innovation! Sega had better fix the major flaws from nba2k3 and stop worrying about that FPM crap! before they fall behind the competition, they already trail Inside Drive and now live is shaping up to be a formidable opponent.

I just wonder if this whole 10-man mo cap means we're gonna start seeing the same plays over and over again, but this time with all 10 players.

                              Excellent point.

That's one of my main concerns. It also worries me, do we get to see the low post battle EVERY trip down the floor? ie, do we see Shaq battling the same way every game...no matter who the match up?

2003 does have a lot of plays in it...so maybe the plays will be okay and they say they will put in authentic plays also...which would be very cool.

Watching those mo cap vids back, the impressive thing is the spacing...look at the guys moving off the ball.

2K3 had horrible off the ball movement...

SEGA really needs to pull something special out to keep up IMO...and I say this as supporter of what they've done so far.
