Well I guess I will agree with that, but it is still being used as a marketing ploy. I understand that there is a whole new control system being implemented but it's being introduced in all EA games, but this was the only one that changed the name. I get that they are going in a new direction with the game, but didn't see the reason to change the name other than being able to market this as a whole new product and to remove the stigma that was following Live the past few years.

I'm surprised they never changed the NHL title but then it was always just NHL to start with. I'll bet if it was NHL (something) like NBA Live then they would have changed it when they changed the controls.

I'd be happy with- NBA Basketball '11

Its Not fluffy, just simple unlike "Elite"

Heck, rename it NBA Showdown...How bout Lakers vs Celtics for 2011 and for example Nuggets vs Sixers for 2012 (cuz they both going to the Finales )

And @ "Elite" being a street name..Nothing street about Elite, its just a cheey way of saying "the NBA best basketball game" which I hope they back up...

I wouldn't mind it going back to NBA Showdown, I liked that game back in the day.

the crazy thing is, NBA Live 95 and NBA Live 2005 was my fav from the Live series

I really like "NBA Basketball" but thats kind of redundant...

Oh yeah, Madden needs a name change too

Man, this game was way before its time..Look at the gameplay..look at the CPU..He's playing on ROOKIE...I hope Elite has this gameplay as far as realism...
