While I do believe we should analyze what we are seeing, we should hold back on some of the so-called constructive criticism until the game is further along or at least until we see a video that is further along. At the end of the day we all want and are invested in great basketball gaming.
    Mmm-hmm

Absolutely comical to say wait for something final...Time to close the forum until September!

Get a grip guys, nobody would post here if we didn't want the game to be good(notice the small amount that do post here?). Stop being so damn defensive(and smug for a few of you). If the game impresses come demo time, everyone wins.

      Talk about tiring.

Totally hear you regarding everyone wanting the game to be good. That's what EVERYONE wants the game to be. What you guys are seeing is a game that is VERY early in development. This is the earliest that we have EVER shown gameplay footage of an NBA game. The video is a representation of what vision the development team has for the game. There is A LOT of stuff that has yet to be implemented into the game and there are a lot of issue that have to be fixed but the important thing for you guys to know is that the development team is working hard to deliver a genuine NBA game.

With the video you all saw there are no signature animations implemented and everyone has the same attributes. No one has been personalized in the game yet which is why you are seeing guys like Brandon Jennings shooting with his right hand and performing 360 dunks (although when Jennings was in high school the man was a MEAN dunker). I'm sure some of you are wondering, "Then why would you show Brandon Jennings shooting when you can show someone else?" There is a reason for it but unfortunately I can't go into that (legal reasons).

There is a lot of time for the game to shape up and we will be showing you guys more of the game in the months ahead. There is a lot of time left guys and you will see what we have to show you for this year's game that differentiates itself from our past offerings.

I'm just wondering why footage was even shown when the meats and potatoes of the game are still very incomplete(or like you said, not even shown in this video) and show very minimal differences compared to last year. What else were we supposed to comment on when the control hasn't been put in our hands, ya know?

Don't take that above comment as a slight towards you...Its not. But it's just a weird way to show off the game...A defense video with same attributes? Just odd.

I'm not taking it as a slight at all. The point that you're raising is completely valid. While the meat and potatoes have yet to be added, understanding the vision where we want to take the game is important for everyone to understand. As we show you more of the game in the coming months you will begin to understand the direction that the development team are taking the game as well you will see more of the changes that have gone into ELITE compared to last year.

Regarding the presser, I haven't seen it myself so I can't tell you what to expect. Regarding ELITE, there will be producer presence there so they should explain what the status of the game is and what they're looking to do.

Wang never specifically clarified why he left and we don't know if that is really the reason. People who I trust here who have played Elite have said that the game is as sim as 10. We should try to avoid assumptions if possible and give these guys a break and some time to show us a more complete product closer to Oct. 5th.
EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.
