Re: Broadcast View in NBA Elite 11

Just so that I understand is this north/south camera similar to the 2K or High Cam in NBA 2K10 or is it something completely different?

Its just like the 2K cam but in Elite it will probably be called the baseline cam.

And come on guys you know EA isn't going to take away the other camera options that would just be stupid. I've never played an NBA game that didn't offer multiple cam angles so I'm sure EA isn't going to take that away.

North/South is just the default now, imo its in line with EA's whole "total control" mantra b/c it's definitely the best cam for gameplay purposes imo.

They offered 3 ! camera views last year if I'm not mistaken ( don't feel like booting the game up right now to check) which was a disgrace imo. It is not enough!

How exactly do you "tune" a game for a specific camera? As long as there is an option to change to Broadcast I'm good.

Is the Elite shot stick just like 2K's shot stick except in reverse? What happens in Elite when you pull down?

Nah man I think pulling down just does a dribble move probably a step back. Check out the Q&A FlyRice it explains the whole stick controls in detail.

In short, moving the stick up is the only way to shoot the ball. When you are close enough to the basket pushing up leads to dunks, and rolling it up to the right or left is how you attempt layups.

Re: Broadcast View in NBA Elite 11

As long as we have options, it doesn't matter.

Personally I think the north/south camera makes more sense in hockey (in terms of video games) due to the way you have to aim the shots on goals and make precise lead passes.

In basketball, the north/south makes it easier to run fast breaks and read the lanes and open spaces on the court, but it doesn't feel as immerse for some reason.

I think probably because we all love basketball and watch so many games on TV and experienced all our great memories through the TV so everything just LOOKS and FEELS more natural from that standpoint. Our brains correlate the sport with how we see it on TV.

Shooting a corner 3 with a Bruce Bowen feels more satisfying in Broadcast than it would in a north/south perspective.

Same thing with a Kobe 17-footer at the top corner of the key, or a Lebron iso at the top of the 3-point line, or a Dwade screen and roll at half court....we're just so used to seeing it from TV that it plays out more naturally from that view.

Although its not a sports game, take a game like Fallout 3. You can play the game in 3rd person, but the movement shooting, and animations among other things, in that view is much less appealing then the 1st person view.

In past NBA 2K games there were frame-rate and texture popping issues with certain camera views in some arenas.

I'm not expecting any issues with Elite, but you never know.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

I understand the sentiment, but for me its totally different. My brain definitely does not correlate the sport with how I see it on T.V. I feel much more immersed with the view that is closer to how it is when I actually play basketball. Different Strokes as it were.

Awesome, thanks Jano. Sounds like a pretty good setup from the control stand point. Hopefully it translate well to the broadcast view.

Ditto. Every game I play is from a player perspective. Guys who play Fifa are the same way about sideways cams, they have to have that TV perspective. I'm an "on the field/court" kind of player. I use Player Cams on Fifa and PES, Drive on 2k and Baseline Low on NBA Live. I'm not watching LeBron or Rooney on TV, I am them.....

if this is true it's a shame because it's enough to make me NOT purchase this game if thats the case. I have NEVER like that type of view.
