Looking very impressive, hype meter is starting to fill. Can't wait to try it out for myself.

Re: 7 Minute NBA Elite Video (Gamespot)
It's not bitching. We saw some concerns and are addressing it, what now we can't even address problems in a game? One thing most people don't understand is it might four months till release but this will still be the meat and bones of the game, that will not change, it is to late to fix anything major. The game has to be done before Early-Mid September. Now I addressed momentum and foot planting and a bit of animations, this was a concern not a bitch about the game. We aren't posting boycott threads and Elite sucks thread, we are posting our concerns so the developers can address it. If we never post concerns how will the game ever get better?Originally posted by J. ColeFool me one time that's shame on you. Fool me twice can't put the blame on you. Re: 7 Minute NBA Elite Video (Gamespot)
that was great. looked like lots of fun to play. insane how much control they have. To actually have control on euro steps and all the other moves kicks ***. and of course having a back down button is always essential. funny how people come in here and complain about a video that was a 10 out of 10. you really have to be a cynic to watch that video and have nothing but negative comments to say.
To be fair though, I think all the criticism I've read so far is completely valid and constructive. 90% of the reaction so far has been positive and we're thrilled with that, but I'm just as happy to hear the critique.
The part that makes me happy is the things people have pointed out are things we're working on. No surprises is a good thing
I'm not going to try and argue that the players didn't lack momentum or that there wasn't a little foot sliding or that some of the moves may appear easy to pull off. Those are all valid concerns.
I don't think we'll fix everything (no game is ever perfect) but we're working hard to fix as much as we can that has been out.
Some things will be a trade off between look at feel. As a video game developer that is by far one of the hardest things to balance.
All I want is for you guys to try the demo for yourselves when it comes out. You only get half the picture by watching a video. Feel is just as important as look and you won't be able to appreciate the tradeoffs we've made until you've felt it and seen it.
And all the positive reaction has given me another boost of energy. Another late night for me!Comment

Re: 7 Minute NBA Elite Video (Gamespot)
as for foot planting and momentum.it has been said by the producers and community members that this build has no ratings attached to it and foot planting has yet to be implemented. the ratings would make it so Lebron cannot stop on a dime because his weight and height and the speed at which he moves will factor in.
EA is a very serious company im sure they only show us videos without certain things implemented to highlight certain aspects. this video was to showcase control. the will get everything done. their ANT engine allows fixes on minutes.
Enjoy it do not say its criticize it. because this is an early build for us hardcore to enjoy. if you have nothing to do but point out things that are not even a concern at this time then its no wonder they have embargos set.
so the scavengers do not come out and bash.

Re: 7 Minute NBA Elite Video (Gamespot)
I completely agree with you, the game has some amazing control scheme and looks nice and I give them props. Not trying to bash them by any means, I love the series and have been playing since Live 95. Plus I'm an NBA Elite Mod over at the EA Forums, so it would be tough to moderate and bash the game at the same time.
Just saying, we are posting concerns and addressing to make the game better. With that said, lets move on.Comment

but when 2k says we are getting rid of 2 man animations its a 100 % true but when ea said it first its a gimmick.
lets all jus sit back and enjoy these months leading up to demo time.Comment

Re: 7 Minute NBA Elite Video (Gamespot)
That last post has me a little skeptical, even if momentum and feet planting will impede how big of a "wow" movement the move is, i bet every single user here would take realism and less great moments. In almost all cases, realism is what the consumer wants. I was very impressed with how easy that guy made it look though, so the dreaded learning curve should NOT be a reason to turn your back on this game. I was also impressed with the skin textures, one of the major complaints that came up in reviews for Live 10 because people said it looked cartoony. Great job with that!
My question though, is did you guys have to completely re-do your signature shooting animations? Or was it just a matter of tweaking on the computer? And also, can we expect many more shooting animations this year? Another complaint seemed to be how a lot of people shot the ball the same way because of the lack of variety...something your competitor has a lot of in terms of signature shotsComment

Re: 7 Minute NBA Elite Video (Gamespot)
I like what I see.
My main concern is what this new scheme means for some of the major pluses in Live 10.
Most notably Freestyle Passing and the offball player control.
Freestyle Passing was too good to be in one year and out the next.
The Offball control felt equally as good. It was a pleasure making those little cuts or movements into space to get your shooters open.
I'm pretty sure the devs can't talk about any of this stuff right now, as it's all about player control now. I'm just saying they could be onto something special if they can get it all together.
It should be noted, I do get hyped pretty easily.Comment

1.When will the demo come out and will the 360 version come out b4 the ps3 version
2. Are post moves revamped this year?
3. I saw something i didnt like in another video, when lebron went to the hole, durant just slid backwards to let him drive for the layup... WITHOUT MOVING HIS FEET!! Wth. It'll be more realistic if durant took two steps back in a defensive stance and get pushed to the side by lebron's strength/force.Comment

I've probably said too much already...but since you're easily hyped it was too tempting to pass upComment

Re: 7 Minute NBA Elite Video (Gamespot)
Yeah true, but with the new physics coming into play that could fix that issue.
The part I liked about it was the intuitiveness of it, but I suppose it is subjective.Comment
