To the devs can you guys expand on this a little more:

Got it from the Q&A on gamespot don't know if yall can talk about it but it got my attention when I read it a while ago..

^^Good job digging that up, I had completely forgot about that quote.

      Sounds really intriguing.

          Stepsix,

Will the AI teammates be smarter in defending the transition? I hope that's the case in Elite 11 coz in Live 10 the AI teammates are being exploited by the cheesers online. Due to the poor defensive awareness of the AIs in transition plus the high success rate of long pass in Live 10. Im sure that you're aware that the cheesers online in Live 10 always do a fullcourt pass after they inbound the ball for an easy lay up or dunk. Hope you guys can fix this issue in Elite 11.

Hopefully this new game gets rid of the "Benard King" effect. I've never seen so many players shoot and make contested jumpers in my life as they do in Live 10.

CPU will change their defense up from man to zone, but it doesn't switch matchups from a strategic level. It will switch in transition and on screens, but that doesn't always result in favourable matchups
Anyway to kinda make sure Dallas uses that matchup 2-3 zone when they go small and move Kidd to SF on defense....

The Mavs probably played more zone defense than any team in the NBA last year and yet they always seem to stay in man defense in Live 10 even when Najera was the Center on the floor....

Also what the word on CAP space?

Are we finally going to be able to create some sick teams again or what?

I'm with you on the need for more CAPs. Talk about improving the replay value of the game lightyears.
Sadly I think they said somewhere it was the same old 50. C'mon developers you still have time to make a change.

But realistically, as cool as it may be for some people, how many of the gamers that buy Live/Elite spend hours/days/weeks creating players and teams etc.

Speaking for myself, I don't think even once I had any desire to play as some of my older favorites, like showtime Lakers or the whatever. I've been playing Live since '95.

                  Just sayin

There are a ton of guys who download these types of files.....

In fact put it this way I created a Football file from NCAA 09 and even to this day guys are still downloading those teams and players 2 years after that file was created.

I'm talking about 300 downloads for a football game of 2 years ago...That doesn't even include the number of guys who just got the file directly from my EA locker without having to use a download link.

Samething with College Hoops 2K8 that game is like 3-4 years old. But i have guys very interested in the MASSIVE roster file I just started working on which includes all old school players.

So i realize not everyone is interested in these types of rosters.....but I think for the majority if the guy who is creating the rosters does a good job with it you'll see tons of guys start to utilize the rosters as an alternative to the default rosters in the game.

Look at the guys who purchased that new football game Backbreaker....head over to their forums and you'll see a ton of gamers interested in creating old school football teams and players.....and the beauty of it is they can because the developer gave them the option along with default teams

EA hasn't given us the option in like 5 years.....so while it may not appeal to some people atleast give us the option just like you gave us the option to play with Euro Teams that most of us don't use for the past 2-3 years.

It's called REPLAY VALUE/FLEXIBILITY.....you spend $60 bucks your always looking for ways to get the most out that $60 bucks right?

Cool, I didn't know. It could be cool to play around if it was available.

Have they told you the reason it's limited or is it just some random number (in this case 50) and that's that? Maybe even if 2,000 people want this feature, what if that's too small a percentage to justify the cost/resources/manpower/money it would need dedicated to expand this?

no reason has ever been givin....

IMO i just think maybe they should replace the Euro League teams or FIBA teams what ever they want to call them and then use the resources on old school rosters or atleast give us the ability to edit over existing players if you don't want to open the amount of CAP space available.

The thing that confuses me with EA is their other games allows you to edit freely and not worry about CAP space

You can create as many players as you want in NCAA in Football and NCAA Basketball both created by EA. Granted they did take away the ability to edit class year in NCAA Basketball which upset a lot of people.

Not to bring up 2K basketball but i find it puzzling in both their college game and NBA game they include former players and you edit over them if you like.

So i don't know if it's a money thing with EA or not.....in regards to Live/Elite

But i'm sure based on this forum and the NBA Live Series forum where Andrew runs a lot of guys would love to have this flexibility added

Bingo. I've never once used any of the non NBA teams, or even the rookie/sophomore teams for that matter. These additions have been used as a marketing ploy in the past, but they're irrelevant to me. Replacing them with the addition of creating more than 50 CAPs would be a good thing IMO.

I apologize if I sound like a broken record, but it's all about control this year...our receiving/interception/block/rebound (basically any system where you can contact a moving ball) systems have undergone some amazing improvements this year. Previously full court passes were an expoit because the ability to intercept the ball wasn't where it needed to be. This year you can block, intercept, steal or interfere with the movement of the pass recipient. In terms of basic transition defense, it is an issue that I continually look at in terms of expoitability, so hopefully you'll like the improvements I've made to defender positioning. In the end though, with defenders in roughly the right position, what was an easy long pass->dunk should now result in a turnover, and not because we had to force a bad pass to counter an expoit.

Pretty sure I answered your latter question in my response to your initial questions post, but the answere alas is a no for this year...50 will still be the limit.

We don't have a concept of a team's/coach's propensity to play a zone in this year's game either which makes me sad b/c that's two negatives. Did you get a chance to look at my first reply? I think we're addressing one of your biggest issues with last year's game which was the lack of 'humanity' in the ball carrier.

Thank you so much for this, my biggest problem with live 10 was the number of contested shots that went in. Thanks again stepsix. I hope this also applies to playing the cpu on superstar... I want to see the cpu move the ball to take smarter shots also. Thanks again...

Sorry if this post makes me question your understanding of the game of basketball. If a center isn't a perimeter threat, he doesn't clear out on an isolation, because his defender would just cheat in the paint.

Live 10 would have big men at the 3 point line frequently, and to start the offense too. I want Okur, Bonner, Harrington, Bargnani at the 3 point line, not Shaq, Howard, Noah and others.

This leads me to a question. Does Elite 11 actually have real help defense? I have yet to see that in a basketball videogame. It would be sad to see this game just be about analog ankle breaking and dunks/layups. We need help-side defense for a drive, kick, ball rotation NBA experience.
