I HAVE 1 QUESTION???
I love all the gameplay talk, and real time physics, all that sounds good...But the thing that I have really been wondering is, now that we have all the this supposed to be (control). Will it be a generic basketball game with no signature moves or player likeness??? I've heard quite a bit about how great the controls, and thats great, I'm all for it, BUT!! I don't want some generic game of basketball either. I mean all the control in the world don't mean nothin' if player has the same types of moves!! No different set of skills, no LBJ or Kobe swag so to speak! My question is, will this game have SWAG?!?! Can a developer please chime in on this, I mean if this is the case, I think I'll pass on Elite 11 maybe Elite 12 would be a better way for me to go and go back to the other series if this is the case..Hey I know Elite is being built from the ground up, and thats what has me worried...I'm a diehard St. Louis Cardinals Fan!! Re: I HAVE 1 QUESTION???
It's not built from the ground up. it's built off of live 10. But there won't be much new signature stuff. -
Re: I HAVE 1 QUESTION???
It's already been confirmed that signature moves were not priority this year.

Re: I HAVE 1 QUESTION???
That's kinda disturbing to me, I mean, I think if they have the same signature stuff as last year with very little improvement (imo) I might have to wait til Elite 12...It was already lacking in areas of signature styles, I feel now with all the focus on physics and things the game will just be to generic for my taste...I'm a diehard St. Louis Cardinals Fan!! Re: I HAVE 1 QUESTION???
i don't understand ea sports.true that all the new stuff are important to the game, but signature stuff are impotant too.i mean what makes the game more authentic then players shoot, dunk, post moves and dribble like in real life??
ea said that signature moves were not top priority this year, but if you look back you can see that there are very few sig shots over the years.
2k for example had in nba 2k7 something like 200 sig shots. and in live 08,09 and 10 had only like 60 or 70 sig shots max.Comment

Re: I HAVE 1 QUESTION???
I understand where you guys is coming from but I would rather have Real Time Physics before sig animations. EA is trying to give us nextgen b-ball period and we will not fully understand it till we try it and I honestly think once people play it they will over look the fact that its lacking sig anims. In Elite 11 90% of the gameplay anims use the physics engine and with that being said a sig anim look can change during contact so we might not see the full sig anim play out as often. As long as these anims act and react different everytime the game will never get stale and when they add sig anims its just icing on the cake.
Use these nextgen systems for what they are capable of not what lastgen can do.
Games on next-generation platforms (PS3, Xbox 360 and PC) are superior to their previous generation
counterparts in terms of graphics, online play and scope. However, while advances
such as HD, HDR lighting, motion blur or integrated online communities are often described as
‘next-gen’, in reality they are an evolution of trends started in the early nineties.
Many consumers are realising this and are asking for truly next-generation experiences to justify
the cash outlay for hardware and software.
It is argued here that next-generation games will indeed be different. This is because, for the first
time, a generation of hardware is able to produce unique game moments. Unique game
moments are experiences in a game that are not pre-produced, scripted or necessarily even
planned. They are moments that make every game a unique experience for the player. They are
moments that the player will tell their buddies about and will want to save for everyone to share
or admire. They are moments that are produced by the hardware’s CPUs, synthesizing little gems
of ‘real life’ in every game.
I just hate it took so long but at lease EA is trying.Last edited by Young Murder; 08-12-2010, 07:19 PM.Comment

Re: I HAVE 1 QUESTION???
At the very least they should bring back the signature stuff that they had in Live 09.
I don't see why that isn't doable this year.Comment

Re: I HAVE 1 QUESTION???
I for one would like sig stuff too but that is SOOOO low on the priority list I can barely see it. Solidifying the gameplay is the one and only priority EA should be working on.Comment

Re: I HAVE 1 QUESTION???
Thats exactly what they don't need to do. Why people are stuck on bring things back from previous iterations of the game is beyond me, thats not moving forward thats going in circles. It appears for the first time in a long time someone has stepped up and said we need to rethink this whole thing. People are always going to have an opinion about the graphics, so as long as they are finally committed to game play thats a strong statement. My big concern is once again they have ignored Dynasty mode. If this is the case in the long run this could be a huge problem for the title.Comment

Re: I HAVE 1 QUESTION???
LMAO, DJ Mbenga?!?! Of course not, all I am saying is that for the game to be competive in my eyes at least, it has to feel like the NBA...I can't see that happening without their being any signature style to it. For instance, let's say we have the run and gun of the Suns, but Nash doesn't have signature passing ability nor his 1 leged off balance jumpers!! I mean that wouldn't feel like the NBA that I know and love!! With that being said however, if they have the big names down and have the teams authenic play style down, then I'll be happy, if not.....Comment

Re: I HAVE 1 QUESTION???
This is 2010 and the 578th edition of an NBA game. Sorry but I don't understand that the CPU AI and players don't behave more like their real life counterparts.
I'm sure that the new game play will be great but how fun is it too only feel the differences between players because they run faster or shoot better?
It's one of those things that people expect to see and feel when they play a game in 2010. I'm sorry but NBA 2K has been a lot better at that year after year. I can't understand that the NBA Live games hardly invest time in this.
To me it's a big thing when I see a signature dribble, realistic player AI and tendencies and free throw routines, but if the NBA Elite/Live franchise is going to reboot every year with new a new crew, they will never catch up with the other game.Comment

Re: I HAVE 1 QUESTION???
I don't know about that? I don't have any pics or anything, but, Live 10 had freestyle passing and nash had pretty nice dimes! Also it had his 1 legged shot, it was a canned amination but it was in there...I'm not knocking Elite 11 cause I am as excited about it as I can remember in while about the new physics system...I just don't want it to be too generic is all! I'm probably still goin' to go with Elite...I normally buy both series of b-ball, this probably won't be any different. I like both games for different reasons.I'm a diehard St. Louis Cardinals Fan!!
