    Question...

i'm being totally honest here, and i'm not anti EA or pro 2K. i bought Live last year because i liked it better, but i would just like to see what everyones thoughts would be on this, but, How many people think it would be beneficial for not only the consumer, but for EA to take an extra year to come out with the next iteration of Elite? i have no idea what it takes to make a video game, but it seems to me that almost every year one thing or another about a game seems rushed or one part of a game gets worked on while another part is totally ignored or doesnt get the attention it needs. just wondered what everyone else thinks of this.

yeah they could. but i'm just saying, not much has improved with the Live series for quite a while now, and i really think more time would greatly benefit the franchise.

          Re: Question...

Even though it would probably be beneficial I can't stand only having one option for sports. I don't see Elite being as bad as Live 07 so I say release them.

One thing I hated about the early years on the x360 was how 2K was really the only playable option. I eventually got tired of the game and it just sucked not having anything else to play.

Sliders can only do so much for me after I play the game for a long time. So the options always kind of keep things fresh.

That statement is false... What are you look for in a basketball game?

well to me, the look of the game has taken a step back from Live 10, so where's the progress in moving forward one year to going backwards the next. in this day and age of video games, it seems like the potential for these games is not where it should be. at least in my opinion. still, with Madden and Elite, NOT MUCH has changed, other than a few features, for quite a few years now. it's hard to explain, when i play next gen Madden and Live, it's like its just the last gen frame painted with next gen graphics.

guys everyone talking about "the animations/graphics took a step back" uhhh didn't the DEVS tell this would happen when they went all in on RTP? they said this. i read it myself. that means dont complain about something you already knew was coming. they also have a 3 year time frame with this new shift to RTP. and less animations. year 2 will LOOK visually better because RTP will be more about fine tuning then OVER hauling. mark my words.

year 3, will be Excellent. but of course who wants to wait that long? lol. but it is what it is.

                  Re: Question...

Wow some very good points made here. What about the improvements NHL 11 is making and is currently raking in the awards? 23 in 3 years. That nothing to sneeze at. I've never owned a NBA ever but a couple of college basketball games, baseball,Madden back in 08 and of course Hockey which not everyone likes obviously. I just wonder sometimes how much the developers ACTUALLY listen to the consumer as to what needs to be done to improve the game. I can clearly say this for the hockey series. I've played roughly 200-300 games waiting for the next series to come out. I like it that much but depending on the season and the sport thats going on. Remember when there used ti be more titles and games to choose from? The market has dried up somewhat and your kinda stuck playing whatever's out or doing without and that's not good. How bad do ya really want that game?

                    Re: Question...

can I say "I called it" after hearing the recent news? Lol. Delaying this game is the smartest thing EA could have done...In my opinion.

I'm sure devs would love to have two years. But sports in not FPS. The demand for annual releases will always be there. Nothing to gain by skipping whatsoever. YOU may feel that you can wait, but the numbers say most people think otherwise.
