I thought you could break out of size-ups at any time though by just letting go of the button. And in the other game you can break out of size ups at anytime too. IMO, there is no reason to get rid of them if they can be broken. Makes the game look more realistic too.

They had to take them out because that was a sequence of moves the player had to watch. He could break out of it but, it wasn't like 2K where players have their own sig crossover moves and stuff like that.

The only animations they could keep were single player anims like jumpers, dunks, layups, and things of that nature.

The whole concept of the size up moves were based on a dice roll though. How exactly would that work in this years game?

My question is why would you size up the AI now if it has no affect on the defender? Even if it was canned earlier, it looked good and had effectiveness...even though it triggered a 'get beat' animation, i really didnt care, I shouldn't have had Kyle Korver guarding B. Roy. lol

The idea is the same though. You do those stationary dribbles to make the defender react, then attack based off of the reaction. The affect on the defender should be decided by the defender.

Ive yet to see signature dunks and all of that stuff I see being touted here

From what I saw Pau Gasol was doing the same 2 handed hang on the rim dunk as LeBron James, Okafor and the same dunk Tyson Chandler and Boozer were doing.. so where is this other sig stuff at again?

I saw some different jumpers but nothing else stood out to me as anything signature.

that's what I'm saying, the act of sizing up won't be recognized...i can't put an CPU defender to sleep per se...the defender will only respond to the last move before the drive, not necessarily the sizeup action.

Actually, it wasn't based on a dice roll. It was based on the defenders reaction to the animation. If i anticipate and guess right, i block the drive attempt. Just like shooting wasn't reallly based on a dice roll last year. It factored in distance, shooting percentages, and how open the player was just like any other bball game would.

Technically it is a dice roll (i hate that term though). Dice roll is obviously a marketing oversimplification and described condescendingly in their videos to sway your opinion, but shooting in other basketball games is based on a probability that you affect through your input & basketball strategy (as in the things you mentioned, who you're shooting with, etc.). In Elite, that probability determines the size of the sweet spot, and the final word on the shot is your input.

There is nothing wrong with probability based shooting, as you can get it feeling quite realistic. Live 10's formula for devising shooting probabilities wasn't complex enough or weighted right so many thought it felt scripted.

I HATE the term "dice roll" as well, and i agree with your point about Live 10's shooting formula being too simple.

Can we stay on topic to say this game has rarely anything that says signature in it

Does NBA ELITE 11 retain player specific moves such as signature shooting and dribbling styles, Go To Moves and dunk packages?
Yes to dunk packages, we have signature shots but we don't have signature shot arcs this year. We do, however, from a mechanic standpoint have the ability to perform higher arcing shots so if a defender is on you and you want to put additional arc on your shot you can do that. We do have signature dribble moves but we do have REAL AI which we will go into detail about at a later time.
