Re: NBA Elite 11 Video: OS Exclusive All-New Hands-On Control: OJ Mayo
Great post...the Elite12" hype train" will include a total bashing of Elite 11. Thats the way EA rollThe only time EA will confess to how bad Elite was..is when ELITE 12 drops and they will show vast improvements over 11. "In elite 11 lats year, our emphasis was controls. In elite 12, we're bringing a whole new array of animations using our rtp system, giving the user more contact/physical play"
or something bs like that.
I hate that.
I still want this game to do good, Live 10 was great imo, I liked it better than the other game. which is why im not so quick to jump off the ea bandwagon, they can do it.My All-time Favourite players is order:
1.Larry Johnson
2.Kevin Garnett
3.Blake Griffin
4.Ben Wallace
5.Shawn KempComment

Re: NBA Elite 11 Video: OS Exclusive All-New Hands-On Control: OJ Mayo
the other game being live 10, yeah, but not even close the the other company game!!!!!!!Definitely looks better to me.
The possibility of using buttons just for one or two things and sticks for the rest is good to hear, but I'm sure I'll end up using one or the other for everything.
Wish they would of used the Red ATL jerseys in this video.
Edit: Good to see Al's model looks leaner and taller.

Re: NBA Elite 11 Video: OS Exclusive All-New Hands-On Control: OJ Mayo
The layup solutions were pretty inconsistent - you couldn't choose which type of gather, just a direction. You chose the side finish with layup solutions, but couldn't choose the hand after the direction. I don't remember that about behind the backs, but I never liked freestyle or quickstrike, so at the least I'd call both of this year's games move 1-to-1 handling much more intuitive.
Basically, I think of it just as a more granular way to do what you could do before. By it's very nature, it'll present a few decisions that weren't there before. So consistency in addition to some more choice (touted as control).
For shooting, the finish does call for aim (and maybe timing?)Last edited by Tha_Kid; 09-13-2010, 11:03 PM.Comment

No one purposely makes scoring more complicated than it has to be, he was wide open but instead decided to go up against 3 taller players and able to score and receiving not a bit of contact how is that realistic, come on bro open your eyes stop making excuses, J Crawford stop in mid air after one block attempt then jump 7 feet high in the second, reallyPSN=Coolcas7Comment

Re: NBA Elite 11 Video: OS Exclusive All-New Hands-On Control: OJ Mayo
Honestly, the demo is the only thing I am looking forward to right about now. We have seen videos like this one before, but it seems as they are getting smoother or more fluid. Newer build I guess. However like I said getting my hands on the demo will give me a better idea of what's really going on. Like some other people on this forum I buy BOTH games every year. Live 10 was an automatic buy because of the improvements it made. Now for the first time in a few years, videos are doing absolutely nothing for me anymore.
And....how about some info on franchise mode?Comment

I'm sure it will include pointing out improvements by showing where your previous effort was lacking. I don't get why some of you guys are reaching so hard. Is it bashing when you see how ineffective 2K10's plays were vs. 2K11? Or blogs pointing out where things were lacking and how they've been improved? Use of cliches doesn't suddenly make it bashing.Comment

Re: NBA Elite 11 Video: OS Exclusive All-New Hands-On Control: OJ Mayo
Regular one handed layups were fine
Im not talking that layup solutions stuff and the wack contact which shouldve been touched up in the patch instead of made worse
That game needed to be massively edited to be decent and im seeing things now that will be the same...
Its amazing that that recovery defense is not even a worry. If thats the AI its no different than last year, maybe doesnt happen as much I dont know, but that was one of the ratings problems... the vertical thing altogether is just strange with guys jumping out of the building like that.Comment

Re: NBA Elite 11 Video: OS Exclusive All-New Hands-On Control: OJ Mayo
Seriously man give it up dude... this has nothing to do with 2k whatsoever. I played Live 10 the majority of the time last year because of the control scheme and even edited the entire game after the alien update and the broken patch and the 2nd patch that did almost nothing at allI'm sure it will include pointing out improvements by showing where your previous effort was lacking. I don't get why some of you guys are reaching so hard. Is it bashing when you see how ineffective 2K10's plays were vs. 2K11? For the record 2k10's playsets were smashed beyond belief because Live 10 did them so well it wasnt even a contest.
Regardless, dont sit here and tell me something as marginal as this is an improvement worth noting when it was doable with edits just fine, and 2ndly that defense was a huge part of the video which is being skipped over.. that was terrible.
How the heck did he recover so fast then get back in front of the ballhandler and do a vince carter olympic like leap like that? Thats one of the things that was supposed to be fixedComment
