Just got a chance to play the 360 version, IMO this is by far the superior version to go with - it plays much better than the PS3. I still find both versions somewhat dark on my ISA certified LED TV, never had this problem before. The game seems to have poor lighting, the players actually are fairly detailed when you zoomed up close on the FT line, though the overall image is dark and it takes away from the game. Obviously the stilted movement is much more of a serious issue, guys falling and jumping like pieces of lumber or something.

Re: NBA Elite 11 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here (PS3, 360)

After playing most of the day (long lunch break) I came back to work to think about this game and where I stand going forward.

I like the idea of the new controls. I like that they are doing something different but, what was wrong with last years controls? I know you can go back to them but, was it really worth investing all that time and money into doing something totally different? IMO, NO not even close. They could've put there resources into something that would've made the game better. Fix fast brakes, fix rocket dunks, fix sliding, etc... I could go on and on. But, they decided to scrap something that wasn't broken in favor of something that doesn't translate well when there's 10 guys on the court. This is just my opinion.

At this point, this will be the 1st year that I don't buy NBA Live (Elite) and this hurts me. I was such a big fan of this game and the series that it saddens me. I just don't get why they felt the need to spend all there time and energy changing something that was fine the way it was.

Anyway, I'm out, good luck going forward EA.

I see the wars between the fanboys of these two games must have been serious when you cant even mention the differences and similarities between 2 basketball games without warning of a ban....but anyway.

IMPRESSION....I like the controls. Very simple, easy to get into. After the tutorial I didn't have a problem pulling off any of the moves that I had just learned. Other than the controls though I feel like the game lacks polish and maybe that's because its not a final build, IDK. But there is a noticeable lack of graphical polish, animations, weird jumps and movements, etc. I will say though that if this is the foundation of what they hope to build for the future, they are moving in the right direction.

Man I tried going back to the 360 version of the demo (which is miles ahead of the ps3 demo) but I am Just simply not enjoying it. This seriously reminds me of when the ps3 first came out and we got that lackluster effort out of EA the first year of next gen gaming.

After last years game, this demo is seriously disappointing. I just can not understand how a company can release this game in the year 2010-2011.

The competition is light years ahead of this game now that EA has gone back to square one, what 6-7 years into the next generation of gaming.

            I'm glad that I didn't trade in 2010.

The one positive about the game is that when I am pulling off moves I don't feel like the computer is taking control of my player, but that is seriously THE only positive that I have.

              2) Mid-air collisions on shots all adjust to circus shots. This is annoying but tolerable for say, dunk attempts from players athletic enough to try them. The issue is when contact during hook shots causes Shaq/Bynum to go from a hook to some crazy switch hands layup. One size does not fit all here.

              3) I don't know about anyone else, but shooting is pretty damn difficult on Superstar. I like it.

              4) Live has had a skinny Shaq for quite some time but Elite's takes the cake. I mean come on. And what stat governs backing down, because Bynum pushes Shaq out everytime in Elite.

              5) rEAnimator, can you do the double clutch shot in this demo? I tried the method posted to no avail.
Yes, the double clutch is in there, but it doesn't alter the animation (unfortunately) it only alters the shot trajectory.

You should notice a much higher shot arc.

Lick down the right stick just before you release the shot to pull it off.

I'm just about to boot up the demo myself so I'll double check, but it should be in there.

Re: NBA Elite 11 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here (PS3, 360)

Ive spent another hour doing nothing but control work.

Guys..relax with the no turbo button..how fast you are going to move is dependent on the stick..its pressure sensitive...just like auto sprint in NCAA and Madden.

I figured out how to do triple threat moves..once i figured out once the R1 (PS3 ) Is for..

You can do your standard jab step, side step, protect ball etc...and then go into your size ups.

ALL of the moves you want are in there guys, its just all on you, to do it.

I think a large part of how much you will like this game comes down to how good you are at this...the animation variety opens up when you use the LS and RS together with your dribble drives and shot attempts.

Im shooting fallaways, floaters, hook shots..switching hands in mid-air etc.

Post game is going to be NICE once I remember that the shot stick isnt 2k's (sorry!)

ITs up all the time to shoot, you can tap RS once to get an up and under animation, and then use the same layup technique to do a hook shot left or right.

tap RS to do a shoulder shimmy...PUSH Rs to post turn left or right

Ive done a few nice up and unders into hook shots, layups, leaners, fallaways..and it felt fluid and response.

granted its against air right now .

Im off to see how my newfound knowledge of what i can do works with bodies in the way .

I'll post videos at some point.

I really wanted to like this game. That being said I was disappointed with the demo. Each player has the same dribble moves, and same trajectory on their jump shot. Defense is a lot easier to play than offense IMO. I just felt that running and moving with the ball feels choppy and not what it feels or looks like in real life. Overall, I was really not satisfied by the game.

                      Pretty nice presentation.
I like dribbling with the RS.
                      Nice menu screens.
                      Good soundtrack.
                      Cool practice mode.

but uh everything else was less then stellar. Most notably, jumpshots. It doesn't feel as if it takes skill to make it. Then there is legendary mode. It's way to easy. I had 4 points 4 boards and 4 assists in the game and got 8.0, but it definitely didn't feel as though I deserved that good of a rating. The gameplay is too open. It's street ball. Not enough fouls are called. And it generally isn't very fun.

Its took me about four games to get used to it.
But as I kept playing It started growing on me.
                        I love the presentation.
                        I like the controls.
I miss the Live 10 graphics.
But give this franchise a few games and it will be a force.

im sorry but this game is sooooo garbage to me. these controls are TERRIBLE! no other way around it. i have to do a upward Haduken to do a layup? get outta here!

player movement is terrible, graphics is bad, the players dont even look good. the only thing good about this game is the sound. and i had to go back to the old controls just to finish the demo. i deleted it already. and i tried the demo on both systems, 360 version does look a little better.

                          this is awful EA.

Anyways I have to get used to the controls to give a legit impression, however I am not liking the graphics, animations or the CPU AI decisions

The atmosphere is the best part about this game as of right now.

Will there be a NBA JAM demo?

                                Played several games last night.

Good = the controls offer some depth. Yes, it's fun to master them.

Bad...very, very bad...= The CPU AI is freaking terrible.

This game is not even close to being an option for USER v CPU type players like myself. It's attrociously bad. I can't imagine anyone with any serious basketball IQ enjoying the USER v CPU experience.....it's just beyond bad.

So...for a guy like me who basically solely likes to play v the CPU, this game is seriously bad.

For guys who never play v the CPU.......only play USER v USER...I can see that the controls will have some appeal over time.

It's not even close to being an option v the CPU though....
