Re: NBA Elite 11 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here (PS3, 360)

I just wanted to add a couple of things I left off in my impressions.

First, I adjusted the camera view from the default to broadcast with the height lowered all the way down and the zoom way in, it's harder to play at first but looks so much better.

The other thing is and I don't know if anyone else has had this happen yet, but I've had it happen twice. The first I think was with J.O., I hit a last second shot and then the ref went to the scorers table to review...he waved it off.

The other was a game I was down by 2 with time running out, I stole the ball from Fisher with Rondo, I ran and put up a 3 pointer as time ran out, yes it goes in the announcers love it and praise me... but wait they start questioning if I got the shot off in time. The ref again goes over to review and comes back with a yes shot was good!! A one point last second shot reviewed by ref win... pretty cool stuff.

This video represents what in my opinion are the problems with rebounding in Elite.

There is no consistent boxing out, sometime they look great, but sometimes it is just a mess, when the ball is up in the air nobody should be with their back to the basket, and there should be a logic, about some big-men just boxing out, and others going for the rebound based on what each player does in real life

Just to give an example, I remember the cavs, when they had LBJ, you would see big guys just boxing out their man, and you would see LBJ coming from the perimeter and just go for the rebound like there is nobody else on the floor, that is team rebound strategy, if the opposing big men are boxed out, there is no way that someone can consistently out rebound james because of the physical tools

And of course, there should not be no one jumping to the ball, if they didn´t even make eye contact with it, there is no way Paul Pierce knows were that ball was going

Great vid HD but that was one of the first times I had heard Van Gundy and Mark Jackson not speak for that long. It was all Breen for the longest, maybe it happens all the time and I just don't know it...

The crowd sounds great just like a game at the staples center, real authentic. And for the most part when all three of them are interacting they sound great too.

Definitely a major upside for that area of the game. Real interested to hear your opinion on the controls so I'll be on the lookout for that next vid...

i just downloaded this demo just to try it and it is bad. I mean i can see that the controls are new. But just bad, i could delete it from my 360 quick had to play the 2k11 demo to get the dirty feeling i had. Cant remember i worse demo of NBA game. So happy EA held back from releasing this on Tuesday.

Re: NBA Elite 11 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here (PS3, 360)

I said in the other topic it couldn't possibly be worse than 2K10 was out of the box. Before playing it I thought to myself even IF it some how is then it can't possibly be worse than that ESPN Konami game.

Before I say anything I would like to state I didn't enjoy the 2K11 demo, bought and loved Live 10 over 2K10 and even after 2K10's patch still perfered Live so am no 2K fanboy.

That's my initial impression. This IS a joke right? That's why it was delayed.

To start off during the tutorial my players leg was just jittering all by itself for some reason.
            These controls are absolutely awful.
The graphics somehow have gone backwards. Like way backwards. Like launch title backwards. Even then that's an insult to Live 06. Like HD Xbox 1 graphics.
My very first shot in Be A Legend was a lay up that was goaltended but goaltending wasn't called, good start.
Open lane, instead of dunking he pulls out some 360 fadeaway shot.
Open lane, lay up attempt, just gets shoved and misses the shot with no foul.
The passing somehow managed to be worse than 2K11.
My player STOPS in transistion to catch a pass instead of getting it in stride.

I can't find out to switch the camera for the regular game.
            Player movement,rebounding,defense...
            I couldn't even stand 1 quater of the 5 on 5. I liked Live 07. I liked Live 07 and can't stand 2 minutes of 5 on 5 in this.

TWO guys made THAT much difference? Live 10 was great.
There's other stuff I want to say but there's honestly no way to put it nicely. Am otherwise at a loss for words about how awful this is.

I'll just say that not only is this the worst basketball game I've ever played, I think it might be the worst game I've ever played or at least worst sports game. That's right,it's worse than Blood Bowl (with the delay that still ends up worst game of this year). If I was Kevin Durant I'd be calling EA and asking to be taken off the cover.

I did like the commentary. That's one good thing at least.
