The BEST way for EA to appease both their customers and business

The BEST way for EA to appease both their customers and business is to:

()Include a code for DNA(Rosters) extension for the 2010-11 Season to be available for NBA Live 10 for those who have already made last years purchase
()Include a $10 off coupon for either the following years Elite product or other 2011 EA sports product
()Include main gameplay components of NBA Jam (which has already been done)

To me, this is the best way to fix their bad press on their product while still having their product sell @ regular retail price, which because of the items stated earlier, will give gamers and incentive to purchase. Their PR nightmare has already doubled with the performance of their demo and their “3Year” plan made public which should have been kept in-house. Why would anyone want to purchase a game where the first 2 years of a 3year-project will be nothing but “work-in-progress” titles?

Hopefully this should appease everyone enough, both sides win. EA still gets “some” revenue that will be better than going with what they have moving forward as is, and gamers can continue with what they enjoyed in NBA Live10 while being treated with NBA Jam along with a look into where the franchise is headed with Elite 11.

I doubt they ( EA ) see Elite 11 as most people on this forum see it ( bad ), so they're not gonna appease anyone. They probably don't feel it's necessary, but I do understand where you're coming from.

with so many threads of blow-back on this site alone... if they don't feel any pressure then there really IS a problem, i've seen EA's devs going back & forth here trying to do damage control here so they can't stand idle
i just thought this is the best situation that works both ways, i usually always buy both Live and 2K so i can have balance so i never fall into overplaying one over the other: overPlay one game, move to the other which goes back&forth all season for me, but... $60 purchase of Elite11 doesn't look likely as is with no incentive other than NBA Jam: which won't cut it.

If they see a problem come the week of Oct.5th watch what happens. Word about how this game is gonna spread like a California wildfire in the summer. No offense to anyone!!! You are going to see used copies all over Ebay, Craigslist, and gamestop. I like the OP idea. To bad it will never happen.

If it really is a massive consumer backlash via trading it back in, they might do a nationwide recall of the game like they did with Madden years ago.

Why should they give you a discount on something just because you don't like the game?

              NHL 11(so was NHL 08) is "year 1" of a "3 year plan". And it's a fantastic game. I don't see why that's a pr nightmare.

LOL i planned on doing the same. This way i can try the game out and see if I wanna pay the extra 10 for the online pass. If after the free 7-day trial(I plan to gamefly this), I don't like online play then I just won't by the game.

There are too many good ole day gamers. ELITE will sell at least 250K on the PS 3 alone. EA Sports is still too big to fail in the major sports unless they put a ton of money behind something like they did with the NFL license.

I don't know, we've never seen a game THIS bad from EA. Elite may finally break the mold in bad way and I think the name change may hurt their ability to bring back the EA fanboys. They realize this isn't Live anymore and they may not want anything to do with the new offering.

Most casual gamers (the new "3-4 million gamers" they think they can sell to) are concerned with the visuals first and Elite is a mess in that department. No one is going to be sold on Elite based on a quick glance. There are no "oohs and aahs" that will attract new gamers. No kid is going to walk through a Gamestop, Walmart or Target and see a kiosk of Elite and say "Mommy, I want this game!"

EA's football games sucked for a long time but at least they were visually appealing to a certain extent outside of the running animations. Plus football is much more popular than basketball. Not to mention it was the only college and pro football offering on the market.

It will be very interesting to see the sales numbers for this game and where the series heads from here. I wonder if they'll follow an MLB 2K path with their sales figures.

No doubt... I'm starting to feel like I am breaking out of my denial. haha. I want Elite to be good because the idea sounds good. And I want to believe that once I put more time into it it'll get better, but I dunno.

The really sad part is that I can't even see where they are going with this. Live 09 and Live 10 could be built upon... you could say "almost there", but this is, as people say... not even a finished game. It looks horrible.

The idea was right but the implementation was totally wrong. In so many ways... it's really sad. I don't think I've ever sat out a year of basketball gaming...

NBA Live 10 will have the 'Beginning of Year' DNA update with all of the summer moves, and top 15 rookies. They did it last year with NBA Live 09, so it should continue for this year.
