I will throw in the suggestion I mentioned in another thread. Hold Elite until the NBA Playoffs. Then release a Elite Championship Preview game as DLC. This would be a fully realized game but only featuring the NBA Playoffs and team structure.
This way EA can recover some money from Elite and still sell it at its normal October release date next year without too many people screaming about two $60 games in a 6mo span. To maximize exposure for both franchises they could throw a free DLC card for the "Elite Championship Preview" in with every copy of NBA Jam.
Anyway, that is just my though. Still this is a good move by EA. Elite was not ready for prime time.
Including free roster updates for Live 2010 is a nice idea as well. Being able to pick Live 2010 up at bargain prices know you are going to get 2011 updates will prove more successful against 2K11 than Elite ever would have.
Releasing NBA Jam as a stand alone title on all platforms is also a no brainer. Why spend all the time making it for the 360/PS3 just to give it away.
Oh, and now can we laugh at all the fanboys who went bat **** crazy about how good Elite was compared to the competition? Even EA says its no good so stop defending it.
