I really think what should happen is that they should release another 'beta' quite a while from release date and get user feedback just like they did with the demo so that Elite 11/12 will really be something that the gaming community appreciates and something that may even rival the other game.

i don't think they should have delayed it, they should have cut the price in half and released it and worked on a patch to see what they could come up with. either that or release it a month or 2 later. this game was deff. NOT horrible but it just needed a lil more work, a patch might have been able to fix some of the stuff, oh well...id still buy a copy for like 30 bucks if i can find one, im just saying lol

The crappy thing is that I liked having 2 games to chose from (even if one game wasn't up to par with the competition). It was nice to have a second NBA title for a "change of pace". It can get boring playing the same game (no matter how good it is) for an entire NBA season. Both games are different and it was nice to have that "different" experience when I felt like it.

I love basketball & I love basketball games. Seeing a game getting "delayed" (most likely cancelled until next season) is not good & yes I know EA taking a year off too improve the game can only make the game better.....but..........

In 2005 we had 3 pro games & 2 college games. That's 5 choices.......5 different experiences. Now in 2010/2011 season we have 1.

They just cost so much more now to make. The cost isn't worth it.

Personally, I don't agree with anyone applauding EA for delaying the game. Remember that the game was already sent to stores, and is essentially being recalled. They have to physically destroy every copy out there and once the game is "done" a second time, they have to reprint all those copies. I, for one, forsee this just becoming a skipped year for EA Basketball. Also, I agree with those who think that they were getting some early returns on reviews, and the game was getting slaughtered (much the same way some here slaughtered the demo) to the point where it was worth the loss of potential revenue to keep a disaster of a game from hitting shelves. It's too bad, because it seems like the people who interact with us here are genuinely devoted to making the best game possible, but they perhaps just ran out of time.

Hopefully NBA Jam floats the dev costs of Elite 12, and we can get a legitimate EA NBA game sometime in 2011.

Yeah man, that was an example... but im sure you guys mentioned alot of things that many of us like, and its not there, and sometimes in place of some other technical unrealistic thing...

It's so damn true too. From gameplay to presentation to "soul," EA heard a lot of what needs to be there during my time there.

But they are seriously working on things as we speak. We shall see what comes from this...

It's true but also unfair. I'm not a fan of their existence or execution, but off the backboard dunks was something the game had because they thought it was a cool little thing that was easy to add. Sig animations are a whole different thing.
