They will never catch up to the what the guys are doing at 2k. Simple as that. All this banter makes EA fanboys look pathetic. For years 2k had the better game. Mike Wang went over there last year to smooth out your weak title, uniform it with easier controls and better court spacing, he couldn't fix everything, but it was a good start. You guys, the fans, were let down, by EA hiring a hockey guy to do your basketball game. The game is buggy and even if its rushed, it still doesn't play like basketball. Live had started playing non basket ball too, so you added some DNA trash just to force a team to try and mimic their style of play, when 2k has had that for years now. Live is known for having any pg on any team go for 40. I read these comments about how 2k basketball is the same and it doesn't change as if thats a bad thing and the more of you writing it doesn't make it sound bad, it makes you sound confused. You want the best to change, cuz your corny title keeps changing. and you all sit there and play it for no reason other than its an EA title? Imagine how many fun 2k basketball titles you guys have been missing....I laugh. Well finally you will play 2k alot or just boycott. 2k doesnt let you do bs, you have to play basketball to enjoy it, and you will not beat the cpu unless you cheat yourself in your house with simple sliders cuz you dont want to hit reset again...2k veterans can run and gun or play sim, you gotta know what you doing. Live was just weak, and the Elite demo is proof they don't have a clue. You can't get better when you are not good in the first place.

Really? Because Live 10 was pretty damn good, and in many areas, better than 2k.

Once upon a time, 2k wasn't supposed to be able to catch up to Live either.

Live 10 was far better than it's past titles but IMO not better than 2k10 & yes the demo for elite was garbage..if 2k were to ever get their hands on the Fiba league it would be over for live or elite....(whatever u want to call it) but if they come up with a worthy title I would try it.

Yeah if they fixed the fastbreak logic, I would put Live 10 back in the PS3 - otherwise I'll wait for Elite 12 (or whatever they call it) and I hope they don't waste their time trying to fix Elite 11 and shorten the development time for Elite 12 - they need the full 12 months and then some to get an acceptable product out -ideally they should have 12 months of development time, 3 months of beta testing (with a select group of testers from the community) and then another 3 months to fix any problems -18 months minimum - but I know the EA suits and the NBA license would never go for that.

How long is a development cycle on a sports game? My guess is about 7.5 to 8.5 months. If this release is pushed back to march they get another 6 months to improve.

Then only 6-7 months for the next iteration? not gonna work my friend

We know this isnt true. A company will do whatever to make a profit. While I cant and wont blame you the employee. I think its pretty naive to think a company really cares about my feeling equally with my money.

I dont understand how in this day and age of the internet and forum sites like OS. How is it a company can be so out of touch with the majority of their base consumer? I already brought up what NCAA did with NCAA 11 this year. They (after producing moderate to poor games every year this gen) finally polled their consumers and as a result delivered maybe their best work in franchise history.

Arrogance, avarice and in some respects contempt. (This does not apply to the developers who have my respect). Unfortunately this country is turning into one the most anti-consumer country in the world -but thats a discussion for another forum.

I honestly hardly remember. I do remember having games in double digit FB's but not every game.

What I do remember messing with is not only the FB awareness slider but also the one in the edit player and just upped them all the way.

I never liked their ratings updates so this doesnt excite me one bit.

I doubt they'll be paying for another patch so whatever you cant edit yourself you can forget it

I hope that the "great Elite debacle" of 2010 will open EAs eyes on how to make a game. You don't need gimmicks if you deliver great game play and atmosphere. The hype will be created by the consumer. 2K 11 is the best thing robhappen to EA. I think there whole product line will be better because of it.

I think this could have happened to madden if 2K was still in football, cause that game is no where near where it should be at this point.

Take the time to build a solid, realistic basketball simulation. Gimmicks and fluff should be put off until a proper foundation is built -otherwise just shut it down and concentrate on your other sport titles. Frustrating because the solution is very clear but is any one at EA listening. And enough with the ELite "controls" - you can't properly implement those controls when the foundation is so flawed.

the impression I get from the people leading and working on Live is that they are casual basketball fans...now I can't expect every person working on the game to be a basketball expert, but it seems to me that there was no one on that team who was really a basketball person to lead it and make sure it was authentic and covered every aspect of the game...in Live 10 i believe that person was Mike Wang...and now the game is being led by a guy who probably never shot a basketball in his life...i wonder if the lead producer of Elite even watched the NBA playoffs last year...2k's real strength is that the people leading their game (Mike Wang and Rob Jones) are true basketball fanatics that know the sport inside and out.

Elite strikes me as a game made by people with limited knowledge of the sport...the game focuses on the most rudimentary parts of the game (dribbling, crossovers, shooting) and ignores the more complex parts of the game (strategy, AI, etc.)...this leads me to believe that there is not a lot of real basketball knowledge coming from Elite's leaders...i have a hard time believing true basketball fans could've produced a game like Elite.

So, maybe one of their first steps should be to get a real basketball person in there to make sure everything is working like real basketball and to flesh out the AI and strategy so it is more authentic.

EA pay attention to this post.
