    What should EA call(the new) NBA ELITE 11?

    We all know that they are delaying the game. Thanks to the Jesus Glitch and all that fancy glitchy stuff. If NBA Elite is rleased before the end of the season, Will EA rename nba elite 11 to separate itself from its past blunder?


    Fighting games do this all the time, same version, but still revamped. Street fighter IV became Super Street fighter IV, tekken 6 became Tekken 6:BR, Gran Turismo 5: prologue became Gran Turismo 5(although thats a different case)

    Will they change the Cover art of Durant to other more explosive pic? Personally I would love to see the blue jersey and all that EA graphic art with some emotion in his face. sexy!

    I think they need to do something. I can see the consumer watching an nba live commercial then researching it online to find the earliest builds and hard8times video and turning away from it.

    Your thoughts?

      I would like to see them do NBA Live 12. It is okay to admit when you make a mistake.

                  They just admitted a mistake and are addressing it by delaying the release. The name doesn't bother me, its how the game looks and plays.

                      Agreed. I hate the new name and I have a strong nostalgic attachment to the NBA Live series....... not Elite

                          It's just a name. Who cares? Why did they change it in the first place? To me, I feel they felt that Live, as a brand either failed or was no longer relevant. Doesn't instill much confidence in the title or the game.

                          No offense, but if they do continue to make a hoops title, they need to send it to the States where the people know and love the game. It's been in Canada long enough and it's not working. But that's just my opinion. Let Tiburon do it. It can't hurt. I have no faith in EARS. I hate Madden, but I think they'd do better than EAC. Again, it's just my opinion.

                              why not just NBA 11? College football dont have a tag its just NCAA Football 11?

                                  The name won't change anything for me, it's all about the quality of the game. But if I had a choice, I'd go back to Live because I can associate with it. It makes me think of when EA was at the top and it brought me enjoyment.

                                      its all about the new market, the market is shrinking, they need to get more people interested in sim basketball..with an arcade(easy difficulty) option.

                                      I'm thinking if they released 11(which I hope they do not) they need to redo everything, the advertising, the cover art

                                      I would call it NBA ELITE 11:The Reup.

                                      But that seems to urban for the common market lol.

                                          Its impressive how people take what a dev posts and completely run away with it until they are saying something else.

                                          And the game wasn't delayed because of one single glitch, especially not one where the first time it was posted a dev commented that it was in the demo but had been fixed in the final.

                                              I know that would go against EA's year number standard, but NBA 12 is too close to Sony's old series.

                                                  Bingo, I don't get the whole need for Live/Elite.. or even "Madden" or Tiger Woods. I get Madden essentially was the driving force in the earlier years but NBA 11 sounds great, and goes well with...

                                                  NCAA Football 11 (Tebow 11?, come on)
                                                  NHL 11 (How bad would Gretzky 11 sound?)

                                                  Plus "Elite 12" is not going to roll off the tongue like "Elite 11" does.. sorta like Live 05, now we got Live 10. Just doesn't work. (coming from a future sports marketing/management major).

                                                  Off topic, even PGA 11 and NFL 11 are better names imho.

                                                          I'm not trying to imply anything, but data that I've seen says the market is NOT shrinking. Of course it's all playing with numbers and both sides could be twisted. But it's always a good ing to grow the market. No argument there.
