I dont care if there wont be any online support or anything for it. I loved the direction the game was headed and would have played the Sh*t out of it regardless of the CPU AI issues. SO rEA , what kinda pull do you have...explain this to your higher ups that there are still people interested getting this game. I Dont wanna have to wait till playoff time to play a new basketball game. I also dont want to see your NBA series go the same route your college series went.
If they do bury them just take a trip down there and get a shovel. Be worth money one day. I wonder why anyone hasnt done that for ET.

      reAnimator,
if you get wind of any copies out there will you let those of us who liked the demo know? my son really enjoyed it and i enjoyed watching him play it. i just want a copy to give him to enjoy. i'd look on ebay but prices will be astronomical there though.

I'm definitely hoping that some Elite 11 discs hit eBay. I loved the demo so much, that I'd be willing to purchase one for $100+.

If not, then I'm going to go with Live 10 because no matter how much I try forcing myself to get into the 2K series, I just can't. Boring as hell.

Some people dont think before they come up with these conspiracy theories

Conspiracy theory or not EA knew prior to this week that the game was being cancelled/delayed.. EA are all about the money, there is no way it went into production

i love the 2k series and will get this years iteration, but i think EA is on to something great with the shot stick being completely skill based. i loved missing free throws and shots because i pushed the stick to the left or right or put too much force on a shot and it was too strong off the backboard or too soft to the front of the rim. i will play the demo until they release the new game or i find a copy on ebay. if anyone hears of any copies at stores near them, pm me with the store info and i will try and secure a copy of it for me and my son. we were looking forward to playing with the pistons vs. the mavs. btw, what do you guys think the chances are that some copies make it into the hands of the consumer?

That makes no sense man. It's just bad business. Even a billion-dollar empire like EA doesn't like to lose money.

rEAnimator even stated that he didn't find out until yesterday. This guy has been honest and upfront from the get-go so I see no reason why he would lie.

As fatleg already mentioned, EA is taking a huge loss here considering that several hundred thousand copies of the game were already finalized and shipped out (or in the process of being shipped out) to retailers.

The fact that they pulled this game from the market shows that they actually care about their product and the direction of their NBA game franchise. IF it was only about $$$, then they would have kept the game on the shelves and no matter how poorly it would have sold.....they still would have made a profit.

I truly believe that in a couple of years, Elite will be the best basketball game in the market. Personally I really enjoyed playing Elite 11 demo and was greatly anticipating the release on 10/5.

I refuse to give up and I intend to find this game on the black market and play the living crap out of it. As the Million Dollar Man used to say ...."Everyone's gotta price." So does the person or persons who manage to get nab Elite 11 before shipments being sent back.

Count on it. Once EA slapped the "banned" label on Elite 11 (ala Nike Air Jordan I blk-red colorway in '85), it basically guaranteed that copies would be hitting underground.

I'll keep an eye out if anyone is interested and IF I get multiple copies, I'll PM those who want one.

The funny thing about that is I used to live in the town closest to the supposed dumpsite, however there is no evidence of this being fact just urban legend. You know like elite being a good game

I don't see why you guys are flipping out and think you might get a copy of this game. It never went gold. It never was packaged and shipped...EA knew they weren't shipping the game well before the day they publicly committed to it. Btw, anyone who has a non final build of the game (the guy who works for EA)...please shot me a PM. I'd like to borrow that for about 25 minutes if possible.

And I thought getting a retail copy of Elite was ambitious.

Is this a FACT or speculation on your part?

Considering that the game was 1 week from release, I find it hard to believe that EA didn't ship any of them out. You could be right though.

rEAnimator and/or stepsix.....can you provide a confirmation if Elite 11 was shipped out to any retailer or if it never left the factory?

Maybe that's why they are so shocked by all the negative feedback...they've been enjoying it v each other, whilst the DEMO dumped all of us right in against a CPU doing weird / stupid / crazy stuff non stop.

Surely someone there had the responsibility to sit down and play the CPU AI non stop for weeks looking for flaws?

rEAnimator is primarily a programmer who works on animation, hence him not playing a lot of games against the CPU.

I think the biggest issue with the demo AI was that you were dumped into the 4th quarter...I watched a tonne of cpu cpu games and played the cpu, but I was usually looking to see if a change impacted something specific and as a result the end of game scenarios didn't get as much attention.
