but I can spot a broken game when I see one. This game was released prematurely. They knew it when they packaged elite with jam. Jam is/was in high demand and still packaged with elite.

Quite frankly, I don't get the notion of paying 65-70 dollars for a game that is similar to its Superior PS2 brethren.

I can't make a comparison to the other game in here, might get banned

But when other games released their demos, its been released with some polish, then when you buy the game, you are disapointed. Nothing wrong with that.

But when this demo has obvious flaws, asthetically, and gameplay-wise that go back a console generation, it isn't worth $65. thats maybe worth 20-30usd

I wish this game could come out with the price slashed, but according to pasta, it can't be. All nba games need to compete at equal price, he says.
I agree with you it has a beta feel to it with problems, but if you have fun playing it is it worth the money?

I know I would rather pay $60 for a game that I was having a lot of with than a game that had all the polish, bells and whistles that I halfway liked playing and would quickly get bored with.

It's just entertainment and it's worth depends on the person.

Some people like going to the opera and will spend lots of money to do so, some will stand in long lines outside a store to spend $150 for a pair of basketball shoes.....to me both are are a waste of time and money.

Honestly, I use to hate EA lol.

I grew up since then..I kinda look as EA as the Little Brother/ or just a brother while 2k is my successful cousin.

I want my brother to do good and I throw him some criticism, even harsh, they should be able to take it.

I am loyal to basketball gaming, and if EA can provide that over 2k..then so be it, I'll be the first to buy their product. If not, then well, my cousin is going to get some love lol.

I really respect you for voicing your comment and say. While I don't agree with it, it does give me some insight.

I'm looking overall, instead of potential. To me a potential game is worth a mark down. They said it was going to be ugly, we got the warning(you have to search for it. I think its called RTP the ugly truth) or something.

its not about personal feel, its about what is reflcted on the market. Fortunately(and somewhat sadly), its the majority. If the majority doesn't agree, then the game doesn't have traction. It doesn't have feel.

You compare it to an opera or basketball shoes...

Would you go to an expensive opera with off-singers? Or would you buy sneakers that are scuffed up but claim to be brand new?

I don't follow the majority and buy things off their opinions, if the majority dictates they don't won't something that happen to like so be it.

It's just more money in my pocket to go do something else the majority doesn't agree with... lol

And to the shoe thing, REanimater told us about the scuffs in the game but he also told us about the controls... he was right on both

This is how I feel. If I'm the one who's playing the game, why do I care what other people think? I'm not playing it for their approval, I'm playing it because I want to play it! And I thought the Elite demo was pretty fun. Flawed, sure, but I think the criticism of it was far harsher than was warranted. Hopefully something good comes out of all of this. NBA Elite going away and leaving 2K standing alone isn't good for any of us, though.

It's funny, when we have sports with only one game, people complain all the time about the lack of choices. When we have sports with multiple games, people pick one and bash anyone that likes the other(s). Ultimately, I just want to play sports game that I enjoy.

But hard work pays off and thats what the other product gives it not only appeals to sim gamers but arcade as well hence the different difficulties and game types simulation, default arcade even describe as doing more dunks and more and 1 calls. The other game is fun at a better quality. Just because something appears fun, it can only go so far if it has no longevity and the first thing that cut me off with Elite, they didn't even touch on its crappy franchise mode which is the longevity part of teh game. all i heard was dribble this dribble that with crappy real time animtion physics which you can barely tell are any different from the other games physics

But the other game isn't fun to everybody. Yep, it's polished, possesses a ton of flash and flare, but some of us want more control.

The game was not very good and for them to cancel/delay it speaks for itself. EA did the right thing as a company and they did right by the consumer by not trying to stiff the consumer to make a buck.

                        I just don't understand this..

Me personally I don't think they had the consumer in mind because they were still about to put it out and was trying to convince folks it was good, better than live10, the controls, you just have to learn it, the retail version will be better, etc...

I think they didn't want the magazines and online reviewers to rip it up...it would have haunted them forever...that's just me though..if there weren't any sites like these do you think they would've pushed it back? or just sold us what we saw in the demo?

                        :kanyeshrug:

just some things to think about...it's not a diss to EA ..just something to think about as a consumer

Why should they care? Lots of products survive without being mainstream. EA is almost too big to fail. They could have released Elite to bad reviews, and mediocre sells, what difference would it make to someone that likes it? Its not like EA is going anywhere. I'll admit that I am amazed at the 4 people who would buy the game just out of loyalty or because Take Two rubs them the wrong way but thats human nature. Humans never cease to amaze me.

The only games so far that have constant releases with poor sales are small time companies ever wonder why users hear hate talk of the last ncaa basketball, because the game was so poor that Ea scrapped the team for it and no patched could be released...SALES MATTER son if a game ain't cutting it there not goingto release a sequal because the first one didn't sell why do you think they delayed it, they can't afford to see another lack luster sales year like last year where 2k10 sold double the sales of live 10
