Idea on How EA Can Make Up The Loss For Elite 11

I think EA can sort of make up for the reported $60 million loss by updating NBA Live 10 with various downloadable patches and content. I know it's sort of silly suggesting this since the delay doesn't mean that EA won't release Elite 11 by Jan 2011, but either way their still going to lose money.

For a reasonable amount $$$ - you get things like: players from 2010 rookie class, more retro jerseys, updated courts, updated logos on jerseys, removal of the two player collision patch from Elite 11, new dunks and signature shot packages, etc.

I mean they can just port the things listed above from Elite 11 to Live 10, which won't take that much time at all.

I figure this will be good for both EA and the consumer since EA will make up for some of it's loss and the consumer will have another option if they don't like what the competition offers.

I don't really mind if people disagree, but I'm just trying to help one of my favorite franchises growing up.

    That is all.

That 60 million is an estimation based on what they thought they would sell. They didn't actually lose that much and honestly I don't understand why they figured they would sell a million copies anyway. They wouldnt get the entire 60 million anyway. In the long run they are probably saving themselves money. You don't need to worry about EA's Sports games. Sports is not where they are having issues. I know that sounds crazy considering the Elite delay but its true.

Edit* I'll that that back. Madden's sells are declining. 10 was down a little and 11 is doing no better.

I'm telling EA now. Sell Elite Championship Edition at Playoff time. A fully realized DLC game featuring the teams and playoff brackets for the 2011 NBA Playoffs. No trades. No franchise. No season. Just Tournament mode. It would kind of be a $15 / $20 preview similar to the Combine game 2K did. Then nobody feels jilted when they release the full retail game in October.
